Excellent both in service and in food. We were three, and took a cheese board, tuna tartar and tuna on stone. All amazing! Also the waiter explained all dishes perfectly and recomended a very good red wine. Best food-experience in pdl! Go with a reservation...bc otherwise you might have hours of queing.More

Local food (cheeses and meat) was amazing, the restaurant is very central and easy to reach. Abosultely recommended to try Azorian specialities!

We literally stumbled onto the Taberna as we made our way down Rua de Sant Anna from the must-see Igreja do Colegio toward our hotel. Tired, we were just looking for a glass of wine and a place to sit down though I did note...the TA decal on the window), but when we entered the charming space, we realized this was a place we could spend some time. The staff was welcoming (even though the kitchen wasn't open yet) and plied us with good house rioja, and the yellow walls and their intriguing aphorisms convinced us to stay on for dinner. And are we glad we did. First we had one of the best octopus salads ever, followed by a seafood entree for two delivered on a tile (probably once a real roof tile; now a glazed substitute) that we thoroughly enjoyed. The tables are close, and in a few minutes we struck up a conversation with a couple of Dutch sailors sitting next to us, adding to the enjoyment. Service was patient and helpful, food great, and the atmosphere relaxed and energetic.More

Well wasn't this a lovely spot to find for lunch after arriving in PDL! :-) I literally walked in off the street, looking for some nosh and a drink. Friendly service, and my only regret was that I wasn't hungry enough to keep ordering food!...The Octopus salad was insanely good. Looking at the plates - grilling at table-top a house specialty - I can only say it looked great, and everyone was smiling. ;-) Nice spot to pop in, especially if you need to escape some rain, and the prices are reasonable.More

We enjoyed a delicious lunch of local food in clouding grilled limpets. Friendly and attentive service in a small but cozy space. Near the central square.

We wanted to have some tapas and wine for dinner and heard this place was good. The eating area is small, so you're seating on stools and close to other tables. It started to get really busy since it was a Friday night. We ordered...a charcuterie board which is good and enough if you're not too hungry. We also chose to cook the steak on the hot stone. It came with the dips, salad and sweet potato chips which was ok. The place was sooo busy and so it lacked in the service aspect since they didn't seem to have enough servers working. Not sure if we would go back since there are so many other restaurants to try.More

All aspects of this experience were very good. Tapas or main meals, extensive menu and wine/beer menu. Attracts tourists and perhaps some locals. Atmosphere very relaxed and casual. Tend to be popular so better to make reservations. Prices reasonable - expect with wine to pay...around €25More

The shrimp was overcooked and very fishy tasting. The steak filet was tough. The charcuterie board was ok. The restaurant was to partitioned off and sitting right off the bathrooms was not a pleasant atmosphere. Too many other places that would be better.
