We have previously visited this restaurant before, with mixed results. My Wife always enjoyed the Swordfish, so we decided to give it another try. We had olives, bread and sardine paste to start, followed by piri piri chicken, swordfish and a mixed salad. We shared...a bottle of house red and also had some sparkling water. The service from Oliviera was pleasant and efficient. The food was excellent and at a cost of 46 Euros was very good value. I recommend you give the restaurant a try.More

My Wife and I have visited this Restaurant before and as she likes the Fish that they serve, we returned for dinner this year. We had Bread, Olives, Butter and Sardine paste, Swordfish and Peppered Steak which is on the specials menu. Drink were a...bottle of Red Wine and 2 bottles of sparkling water. The Bread and Olives etc were fine. My Wifes grilled Swordfish was 10.50 Euros and came with 3 baby boiled potatoes and Salad. It was well cooked, although she would have liked 1 or 2 more potatoes and some fresh lemon to squeeze over the fish. The Steak was 18 Euros and was by far the biggest disappointment! The Steak was battered out until it was paper thin and despite being asked to cook it medium, was well done and resembled dog food! The sauce was fine and it was served with crinkle cut chips! The chips were previously hand cut that had been served at the restaurant previously and I think the Chefs have also changed. I've given the Restaurant the benefit of the doubt before, but won't be making the same mistake again!More

We were recommended to visit this restaurant by a local taxi driver, when I explained that we wanted authentic Portuguese Cuisine. It felt like we were in someone's home for lunch, and the crazy uncle was the chef. It was just what we wanted. They...spoke little English, but we got our order sorted. It took a little while to prepare, but came with a huge salad. I was immediately jealous of my wife's fish dish, which looked and tasted superb. We had a few beers, and our crazy uncle chef sang me a Portuguese song. Great food, great atmosphere, not much of a view. Loved it.More

I went there with my friends and we were well received. The meal was good and the price was fair. If you go there try the cataplana and ask for sangria.

We visited this restaurant 3 times in a week. It was fantastic! Sea Bass was to dye for and the chicken piri piri is the best in the area. As for the Sirloin Steak, Wow! Service fantastic, wine brilliant and so friendly. Give it a...go please.More

I can not believe this restaurant is not higher in the ratings. We started with fish soup which was beautiful and homemade, we also shared a bowl of clams which were to die for. The clams were like velvet and the sauce needed to be...mopped up with extra bread. Peri-Peri chicken and golden bream were the mains. The chicken was succulent and spicy, came with chips and a salad. The bream fell off the bone and was served with boiled chargrilled new potatoes. All the food was seasoned perfectly. The hosts were excellent and we had a long chat with the about the area and the history. I can highly recommend this restaurant.More

Despite of the beautiful main course, service is very bad. They sent a red wine instead of white when I told the owner of the mistake he said It was my fault and dos not change It. In addition, the wine was expensive and taste...bad. Do not take credit or debit card, cash only. Will never go back.More

I dined here this evening and was welcomed by the owner who explained all on offer. The piri piri chicken was fabulous as was the Portuguese home made cake. Opposite the taxi rank on the hill and certainly well worth a visit. The food was...excellent and very reasonable compared to other restaurants I've tried in the square.More

We ate here one lunch time and found only one other table occupied. We both had the chicken piri piri which was one of the best we have had in the area. The portion size was good and it was a bargain at €6 each!...The waiter was very jovial and entertaining also.More
