We were told to choose our fish at a counter upstairs, the waiter rattled off the options extremely fast and there were no prices associated with any of the options - in true British manor we felt obliged to make a decision quickly so other...guests weren’t also told to wait. We chose two starters (sardines and baby squid) and a sea bass to share. When the bill came, we realised the sea bass cost €55, and each of the starters were €12. The fish was extremely plain (maybe seasoned with salt), and came with 3 potatoes and a couple of carrots/courgettes. There were no options of sauces / marinades etc. The meal was nice, but I’ve certainly had more interesting food for a far cheaper price tag. Plus, we were charged €4 for bread we didn’t even ask for... you’d think that would be complimentary when you’re paying £50 for a fish!!More

I absolutely love seafood and any restaurant with a sea view! Happy to pay the price it deserves too. But the rudeness from one staff member in particular on arrival led me to walking back out the door. Such a shame as I would have...loved to try A Ruina, but not with such an appalling staff attitude upon asking for a table. Sorry, it just HAS to be 1 star today!More

A fantastic New Year's Eve! Great Staff, Great Location, Unforgettable Food ... Had it not been for a group of badly behaved Englishmen who did not respect the night of the other customers and would have been paradise. Thank you Ruina and Albufeira for the...memorable night with my family.More

A horrendous experience was had at this Restaurent, the owner who is the chef and his daughter who is front of house are the most rudest and abusive people I have ever met, the food was overpriced and what we did receive was not cooked...to acceptable standards, more than Half of our party received no food, our drinks order had not been taken after 45 mins, and then when we had the audacity to politely complain after waiting 2.5 hours, the owner became very abusive towards several members of our party, purposely intimidating and bullying the female members of the party to agitate there spouses into interaction. The whole experience was not acceptable,we repeatedly asked for their complaints book to officially register our complaints and dissatisfaction but was refused by both the owner and his daughter access to this, As we had elderly members in our party with us who had health problems and were getting extremely distressed and upset by the whole situation we left the Restaurent with only half of our party having had any food. I would not recommend this Restaurent under any circumstances.More

We travelled from England to join family and friends to celebrate New Year’s Eve, with the promise a great restaurant with great views over the beach to watch the firework display. On arrival we were told that we did not have the tables in the...room we had been promised, although disappointed we decided to make the most of all 21 of us seeing the new year in together. The evening continued to go down hill from there with the tables being divided by a brick post. The food was over priced, tasteless and some of us in our party did not even get a meal. Having been in Portugal 2 years ago for new year I cannot state how rubbish this restaurant was and how I strongly recommend nobody patronising this place EVER. The management are aggressive and rude.More

My sister in law booked this awful place for a number of family & friends to celebrate New Year!... As soon as we arrived we had the unfortunate pleasure of meeting the owners daughter who was very off hand with us and her father’s bedside...manner was even worse! We waited ages for our food, some of the party didn’t get what they ordered and a couple of the steak orders weren’t cooked as requested - I could go on!... But in a nutshell this place is not a very welcoming overrated, overpriced restaurant with hideous owners!More
