We arrived late at Sines and we were searching for a place to eat anf just when we thought we wouldn't find because it was too late, we found O Galo. Amazing food and great service. We highly recommend the "Bife de Pimenta" and "Bifinhos de Frango ao Alhinho" , the meat was very tender and very tasteful. We will definitely come back :)

Ordered the squid and it was wonderful. Owner was accommodating and empathetic. Whole dining experience was chill and was typical of a seaside city. Would come again.

Acceptable place in a small city. Tasty and fresh sea bass. The shrimps with garlic where also good. Looks like a family run not touristic place

We had lunch here. It was fine, but nothing special. One waiter was friendly enough (didn't speak any English which is absolutely fine and in fact made it a more enjoyable authentic experience). The other waiter was not friendly. My husband had fish which was quite boney and my son had a tough steak. I had vegetarian spaghetti which was a huge portion and quite tasty.

Good typical Portugese restaurant

We came here, because of TA and we really enjoyed our meal and the housewine. It's a relaxing spot, although television is on with clips from the ninrties. We had a fantastic pulpo to share, a great Turkey to share and homemade pie. We were surprised about the really tasteful dishes, this is one of the best typical cheap Portugese restaurants we've been. Go there and enjoy!

Amazing food and atmosphere

Great place! Had an octopus and squids there - both were simply amazing. Staff was very friendly, music was great (80th rock) and furthermore, price was very reasonable (22 eur for octopus, squids and jar of wine).

We came late, at 15:00 and restaurant was about to close. But waiter wait until we hfinish all the great dishes, including good steak. Nice place nice people.

Great little restaurant with great service and food!

We arrived here after watching England play I. The World Cup. So we were already ‘happy’. The Portuguese menu is well explained. We had the Prawns in Garlic and the local Black Pudding for starters followed by the steak and chips for main course. The starters were amazing. The main course was nice but steak is treated somewhat differently to how I am used to having it in the UK. It was very tasty though! If I was to visit again I would definitely have a fish main course rather than the steak again. The beer was cheap as was the house red wine. We had plenty of both.

Such bad food!

Sorry, it could not be worse. The food is not fresh, oily and dry at the same time. Very disappointing. I can‘t believe that the good recommendations are real!

We went here due to the Tripadvisor reviews. Unfortunately our meal was not good. We had the Mexican steak and a fish and we were not impressed with either. I am not sure if it was because there was a big group there however not impressed.

Great place

We visited O Galo and were very impressed. We had fish and squid, both very tasty. We also had a glass of beer and wine and ended up paying 17 euros. Amazing!
