We had dinner on its outside terrace one evening at a local's suggestion. The pork chop and octopus we ordered were very good. The portions were huge. The local wine was good, as was the service. Many locals eat here, so reservations are a must.

I wouldn't want to discourage anyone going to this place, which is a friendly downhome traditional Portuguese restaurant. But be aware that the food is a tad heavy. There are better places to eat in Evora, but all in all this is an ok choice.

It came recommended by a hotelier, so you're thinking maybe there's backhanders involved here. But no. Not a bit of it. In a city of history, heritage, walls, cobbles and uneven streets to find the place was a feat. And don't even think about parking...More

It was packed but managed to find a table. For appetizers we had the local bread (pao), Alentejo sausage. It was very good and hearty. Later we shared the local specialty of arroz de marisco. The base was brothy with al dente rice and fresh...More
