Lunched very well at this traditional bright and airy restaurant, with outdoor seating. Food was good and staff helpful.

Very much the village restaurant. Not quite sure what to expect. Service was friendly and efficient. Food was copious though a bit heavy.

Went here on our first night and have to say I have no fault with the service or quality of food. If you want typical Alentejano experience with food look no further. 5 star cuisine. Definitely recommend this!

We were directed here by the proprietor of Monte da Torre A few km away. This was a good recommendation. We arrived tired after a long hot drive through the Alentejo but were soon enjoying local cuisine at very reasonable prices. Parking was easy. Although it was dusk as we arrived it was possible to see that in daylight the... More

In an idyllic village with a claimed record number of protected chimneys, the restaurant on the national road has a pleasant ambience, calm efficient service, very varied menu and a absolutely fabulous wine list both in terms of Alentejo wines and pricing. Our favourites were the presunto, deer stew and the chocolate mousse; and the fact that they opened the... More

Pompilio is one of my reference restaurants in Portalegre/Elvas neighborhood. The food here is always very good/excellent, it is difficult to go wrong here. You can easily access this by the amount of locals or frequent guest having their meals here. The staff is also very polite and respectful. Their also have child seats for you young fellows. Deserves not... More

We tasted tomato soup, fava beans and pork with chestnuts. They were exquisitely done. We have eaten on a couple of very good restaurants in the last 3 days, this one was the best so far.

White wine Monte das Servas really good, to be drinked with feet with coriander (pézinhos de coentrada), and an excellent hare rice (arroz de lebre). Very good price also, and very warm personal.

A very famous restaurant in the region, serving regional food and wines. Good service, tasty and well prepared food and a cozy environment (especially if you stay in the inside room). But it lacks the spirit of those old time road restaurants. I recommend the "migas com entrecosto" and the "tarte de chila com amendoa".

Very nice dinner. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the room is simple but comfy. We had the day special, which was Bacalhau à Pompilio, and it was simply delicious! We also had Carne do Alguidar which was good but not great... Cericaia with Elvas' plum is an Alentejo's classic and it was great. It's definitely good value... More
