It´s small, it´s warm but it´s also a very nice spot with good tradicional food from Alentejo. You must reserve, because the restaurant only have 6 tables. The staff are quite warm and nice

From "migas" to "carne de alguidar", everything cooked to perfection. A little bit too much on the grease but a top notch alentejana food. Far from Elvas but the food truly compensates the trip. Coming back for sure next time I'm around.

The restaurant is very nicely located, just at the side of a little chapel. The best tables are the two ones outside (we have been happy to have one), in the shadow of the wall of the house, looking at the square surrounded with white houses and plantations (magnific bougainvillée nearby). But the interior is also fine, beautiffully decorated with... More

Taberna Do Adro is a place in which you can eat traditional food and taste Alentejo dishes cooked with great passion and based on genuine products. We started with a mix of appetizers and then have eaten a fantastic chicken and delicious pork with 3 different types of "migas". The Alentejo wine suggested was very good and we have finished... This place is a typical tavern. They only have 4-5 dishes but they do them perfectly. The starter cold cuts are excellent and don't forget to ask if you can taste a few of the desserts and they will give you a nice mixture of them. At the end we enjoyed talking a bit with the owner. He explained to... More

Not easy to find but well worth the effort if you want the experience of eating in a "typical" small family run restaurant. Very little choice but everything delivered with care and affection. Probably worth booking as very small. Local ginger liqueur was new to us! Great coffee.

My boyfriend already knew this place and because we were staying in a hotel in Elvas thought this would be a good place to eat. We tried it for lunch but it was already full (it seats around 20 people inside and 8-10 outside) we booked a table for dinner. Be aware that they do not have an ATM machine... More

It was like eating at grandmother's house (she was a fantastic cook.) Tiny restaurant, I counted 9 tables, I suggest you make a reservation. Hidden away next to the only small church in the village. It offers simple, authentic, tasty local food in a warm, friendly ambience that takes you back to those days when life was unhurried and peaceful.... More

I visited Taberna do Adro with a mixed group of friends and family. We were warmly welcomed by the owners and seated accordingly. As we wore undecided on what to order we gave the house free hands to serve us whatever they liked, and they delivered in excellence, gathering a fine mix of different traditional dishes that kept coming. The... More

Hidden in a tiny village this restaurant is family run and makes you feel like a friend and guest. I'm vegetarian which was incredibly difficult in Portugal, once we were outside the bigger cities. But here they went out of their way to make me delicious vegetarian alternatives. My husband is a meat eater and lived his food just as... More
