Visited on a Friday night for dinner with 8 people to celebrate an 18th birthday The pub / restaurant is divided into two. One half is the restaurant the other half the bar / waiting area. Log fire burning and quite comfortable. The restaurant itself is comfortable not too cramped and generally you don't overhear other conversations unless your unlucky... More

Went for lunch had two starters both excellent. Went for dinner with friends , all very pleased with all courses . This is a serious resto not a pub grub place. Very pleasant staff , will certainly call again .

Great food, good service, we had table for 12 booked , we all got our food at a reasonable waiting time as it was very busy , not appropriate for children, i would go again , top quality dinner.

1st time eating here and most definitely won't be the last. The food is amazing , we had lunch and if you like liver it melts in your mouth. And the Eton mess hits the sweet spot.

We have known the owners (Patrick and Josie) for many years although, we are only 'associates' of theirs, rather than friends. Wherever they have worked since we have known them, the food has been first-class. Go there.

fab food, worth the long drive and reasonably priced , if your not familiar with the area you'll need a Sat nav but if your around the area it's really worth a visit. it always had a Michelin star and I think it still has but not positive about that.lovely country setting.

Our daughter brought my wife and me to the Red Lion for a Father's Day treat. The owner is a French chef and is wife does "front of house". She and her staff were warm, friendly and really helpful in advising us what was on offer. The food was cooked to perfection, hot and plentiful, and without much of a... More

We've been several times before and once more an excellent meal. A Tuesday evening birthday treat for 5 family. All dishes very good or excellent. Not many Chefs can do pan fried livers 'just so' but they can. Delicious. Some will baulk at £44/head including drinks and tip, but the Red Lion at Milstead really do provide variety and good... We usually walk to the fruiterers pub which is also good but I have to say the Red lion was fantastic. We had two baguettes one sausage the other chicken , both really tasty clean and fresh , a few decent ales and stouts, Service... Varied menu from fish to game to steak with great range of starters. Spent three great hours here with my wife unhurried relaxed service by lovely staff three great courses good drinks topped off with a house cherry brandy which was great and all for a very honest one hundred pounds including seven drinks. Every penny well worth it.
