We have visited the Ferryboat many times over the years, and were concerned to hear that it was under new management. However, the pub interior is looking so much better with the refurbished bar - much better layout - repainting outside with better tables, and the food is as good as ever - the menu is smaller but that may... Couldn't recommend this venue more highly - delicious food, and stunning setting along the Helford Passage. Mackerel tacos should become a permanent feature on the menu, and couldn't resist the salt and pepper squid. Must visit venue if you are heading to this part of Cornwall.

Never heard of this place before i went but seriously considering making it an annual trip. Its a quaint little slice of Englishness away from the hoards of tourists. The small hamlet is right on the beach and from it you can take a tiny ferry boat to many other little hamlets and settlements in the area. The main building... More

We had lunch here towards the end of our 10 day south west coast path walk. So by the time we hot here we had sampled the hospitality of many pubs, cafes and restaurants. We couldn't fault the service on a busy Easter holiday Tuesday. The staff were friendly and attentive and our food arrived quickly. We only samplers squid... More

Delightful place to sit and watch the world go by and see boats on the Helford. Perfect situation right on the beach. Tables in and outside. Good coffee and cake!

We arrived at FBI after a long walk from Maenporth, which would very much recommend. I was apprehensive owing to some of the reviews below but was very pleasantly surprised as we received our order very quickly after it was placed and we were subsequently asked twice if everything was OK (which it certainly was). The position is fantastic and,... More

The Ferry Boat is in a beautiful spot overlooking the Helford Passage. The views are spectacular and a recent bout of redecoration has transformed the interior from a dark and drab old fashioned pub into a bright and airy 'gastro' destination. At first glance I was impressed with the new layout and the styling. The beer selection is good as... More

This is an idyllically situated pub on waterfront up Helford river. Perfect for arriving by boat ferry or walking along coastal path . Pub has been refurbed after changing hands . We arrived for a pre booked lunch. Table inside was fine albeit it was a nice sunny day . We were told that we couldn't switch to another (... More

Location is superb overlooking the River Helford.Just been refurbished and bar layout much improved. Four us went for an evening meal. Service was poor due to under staffing. It took 20 mins to get first drink. Menu limited. Fish and chips not very good with small amount of fish but loads of thick batter and chips tasted and looked like... More

As annual visitors to Helford Passage and the surrounding area, we have eaten and imbibed generally at the FBI numerous times over many years (too numerous to mention). The key ingredients for the success of this pub are location, service, and maintaining its broad appeal as the customers come from all walks of life - retired rock stars, boaties, walkers,... More

Eating and drinking is central to The Ferryboat Inn where we serve home-made pub classics alongside other delicious food. We have a 'farm to table' philosophy so that nothing comes between you and the produce we serve. Cheers, The Towill Family & Team.
