Once a year I'm having dinner Bij Den Boer, and this since twenty years or so. It is one of my favourite places in town for mussels, just 'nature', no wine, cream or so on. My partner at this week's dinner had as a main dish swordfish (lotte) (35 euros). My first course (croquettes de crevettes) was so and so;... More

Well reputated restaurant around St Catherine, especially for seafood and fish. We went there for Mussels and had a great experience. Nice service and excellent food. need to go back!

Typical classic brasserie style fish restaurant. Don't expect intimate dining, but the quality of the old school fish dishes is good. Quick service. Try to sit in the main area in the front and not in the back room near the kitchen.

a bottle of sancerre that was not recognizably close to its region's name (was it a sweet riesling?) fishsoup that was rather bland monkfish that made me feel sick, overcooked andno structure left in what should be a beautiful cut, a mixup of sauce and mash, awful colour presentation. tomates crevettes: wonder where the crevettes were farmed - a sweet... Excellent food - the mussels are Devine! Fantastic service. Very friendly typical Brussels Bistro atmosphere. A must do. Nice variety of food and the beverage menu has choice!

"Average" to me is not bad at all, but I have high expectations, when I come for food in Brussels, in this area. Things could be better: our food was delicious, but was served every time and for everyone (4 people) served lukewarm. A pity. The place was packed with people and it has a good reputation, so I am... More

The place is quite crowded. We had to wait a while before getting our order taken. We ordered a fruits de mer. Good portion. Not cheap but very fresh and good quality. Certainly worth a visit when you like a good fish in Brussels.

Unlike many restaurants in a big city, this establishment is not teeming with tourists. Mostly the locals visit this place, which specializes in fish and sea fruit. So, if you enjoy fish (the mashed potatoes the broccoli and the wine were surprisingly tasty as well), it's a very nice place to spend an evening at. The bottom line is that... More
