Stopped by and was very pleased with the selection. Quaint little restaurant with a very friendly staff. Ate the chicken puff pastry and fries..and of course a Duval. All the food was excellent.

Very small, quaint and French like setting. Great food. Had salmon and chicken puff pastry. Cleaned our plates!

The food is outstanding. Our table had the mussels which got fantastic reviews. The Steak was cooked to order and based on the clean plate and positive reviews was very tasty. I think I heard at least three "that was delicious" comments during the dinner....More

We found and booked this restaurant on Tripadvisor and it was just delightful. It is a three minute walk from Saint Catherine's Metro Station and we walked through the Christmas markets in the snow which was something special. We were greeted and had a warm...More

Traditional Belgian restaurant. Seemed like mostly tourists eating there, but did not seem like a tourist trap restaurant. Had a mixed salad starter - very good, followed by Waterzooi with 3 fish (Salmon, sole and mussels I think). Very tasty. Triple Karmeleit to wash it...More

I was looking for a nice Belgian restaurant and by chance arrived at La Villette. Lucky me. I didn't booked before but when I arrived there was still a table free. Very unusual, as I later realized. Food was good, atmosphere from the past and...More

Visited this restaurant with a group of Americans, we were staying at the Marriott just a short distance away. The restaurant is very well furnished and the staff are really friendly. Both the wine and food was excellent and it was a pleasure to have...More

Based on Trip Advisor reviews, I chose La Villette for our final night's dinner in Brussels. What a delight! Although they had a table reserved for us upstairs, they were able to accommodate my husband's mobility issue and seated us downstairs. The food was excellent....More

From the moment you come into this very small restaurant you're transported to an age when cellphones didn't exist yet and not for quite a few more years. The tables have red and white checkered tableclothes, the music is set for old classics, the glasses...More

Description
La Villette restaurant, opposite lovely St Catherine Church, is as Belgian as it can possibly be. The charming old stucco-fronted building is overhung with awnings, while inside the quaint checkered table cloths, rust wood-panelled walls, country chairs, old framed advertising, and chalkboard menu of specials make this a landmark of postcard Belgian-ness. Yes, you will find tourists here, but also savvy locals who understand that La Villette boasts a more imaginative menu, especially of la cuisine á la biére, than most St Catherine’s establishments. Its forty-strong carte of beers is a powerful incentive, too. Try starter of hot brochette of small Belgian sausages served with two jams, Belgian endive and onion, main course of seasonal mussels with escargot sauce or Fleish beef stew with Maredsous beer, and dessert of crème brûlée ‘the Chimay’s way’, unlike any you’ve tried before.
