We arrived straight from the train station with a thirst, decided on Pater's more by curiosity and am glad as it is a small bar with a massive choice of all sorts of Belgium beers, loads of character and the Landlord and staff on all visits were very friendly and informative about anything we asked. This is a small bar... More

If you're into Belgian beers, this is the place to be. It offers a huge amount of different brands and it's located right next to the cathedral. I live in Antwerp myself, and I can honestly say that compared to most of the other specialized beer bars, this has a much more festive atmosphere - you're bound to make a... More

My favourite bar in Antwerp. A great selection of beers and some tasty but light bites. Staff and locals are friendly.

A bar of great character, directly opposite the Cathedral. Could have easily become a tourist trap but it isn't. It seems to have a large proportion of local people as customers. The beer range is very impressive, approximately 100 beers, however the beer menu is easy to navigate, unlike some others not so far away. During my several visits, during... More

Is a nice place where you can enjoy Belgian beers, is very crowd on weekends but is nice, the staff and the people inside are very locals and sometimes is nice to feel as one of them.

Of all the bars we visited during our week in Antwerp, none could be described as bad but only two were excellent – and Paters Vaetje was one of them. It is a very charismatic little bar, with a wide selection of superb Belgian beers and a decent range of snack food. There is an upstairs seating area, if the... More

We love this bar and it's probably our favourite one in Antwerp. The beer selection is good, they serve a very limited range of bar meals but the atmosphere is superb. The upstairs is reached by treacherous steps that demonstrate the history of this bar and this additional tier adds even further to the character of the place. We will... More

Quaint small place with appeal to the beer fans. Decent draft selection and more in bottles. Prices seemed reasonable. Ordered 2 drafts (7.50 Euros). Beer was excellent. Definitely worth a visit.

Went in for one drink after a day of walking around. Lovely bar with excellent beer. Owner made some great suggestions. Would love to return.
