We were a little discouraged when we saw the menu which was hard to understand (no explanation for most of it). Don't let that worry you - just get one of the set meals, and you get a delicious plate of assorted noodles or rice (we preferred the noodles to the rice), meats, veggies, and a fried banana! It was... More

Went here for Christmas eve meal and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Good food, lovely Pinot Grigio wine! Husband is vegetarian and this wasn't a problem at all! Popular place as looks busy all the time we pass by. Very popular with locals, always a good sign!

This is a very well-known Indonesian restaurant mainly visited by real 'Amsterdammers'. Authentic people and food. Just order a 'plate' (bordje) and you will get a plate of typical Indonesian food (divers in taste, from mild to sweet to spicy). My favorite is the sweet banana, the cucumber in sour and peppers and the sateh. Bon appetite!

We had arrived early and the barman that helped us before 5pm dinner was excellent in service and attentive. Whereas the next waiter was rude and indifferent to our requests. A pity when this is one of the best Indonesian restaurant.

A friend took us here for dinner. We've never had Indonesian food before. The menu was in Indonesian. I couldn't read anything. Our friend ordered for the table. Multiple plates of different interesting foods. Mostly too spicy for me but worth a try.

You have to make reservations - place isn't huge and it was full all night. Turns out Indonesian foods shares some of the similarities that latin foods have. We were recommended by a friend. Took a taxi and came here- it is just outside the city centre but close enough its worth going. We walked into what looked like your... More

good food, lot of different plates. i'm not expert is it all original or not, but mostly it is well prepared. dozens of small plates... omelet, curry, ribs, sweet chicken wings...? all together? but food was good, and service was almost perfect, until older Indonesian waiter didn't say that he doesn't know what is in desert, because he doesn't eat... Very good meal on a cold evening. Chose to go to the pub section and was happy to see all the people enjoying their meals, from families to single women, all seemed comfortable.

I don't understand any of the positive reviews for this place? We had the lunch time specials. The vegetarian version was like super noodles with whatever was left in the fridge that day thrown on top. The meat version was marginally better, but still only what you would eat if it was last option on earth and you'd had 10... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
