Stopped here for a quick bite to eat on a Saturday evening. Service was okay. Staff spoke good English and were attentive particularly as it was a fast food place. Limited food choices available, I opted for the chicken which was a little dry. Fairly reasonably sized portions and maybe a little pricey for the food although it was on... More

Loving this place is like loving Pot Noodle - it hits the spot, but you might not want to tell people you like it. For the uninitiated, Febo is a self service snack bar that is on every street corner in Amsterdam. Most of the inside is a wall of little glass doors containing freshly cooked hot food - you... We came here for a late night meal after wandering the red light district. It was fun to buy items from the vending machines and they were pretty tasty. You need to pay with coins but if you only have bills there is a coin machine. It was very convenient to have. We kept wanting to try other items but... More

There are plenty of Febo around Amsterdam, are you on the run or don't want or have time to waste? Get into one, serve yourself for a nice price, specially looking at inflated eating prices around the city, grab a bite and carry on. Food is pretty nice and fast servicing, considering. If you need, it's there, nice idea.

The reason I need to visit Amsterdam and equally the reason I need to leave. I could live on those tasty Krokets and Chicken Burgers. Nothing better in the early hours of the morning on the way back to the hotel. Probably bad for you but I'm passed caring

If in Holland, more so Amsterdam, you must try FEBO. Originally designed to feed the sailors as they came off the ships, it is still relevant today. I had the beef burger and the chicken burger. I enjoyed them both but preferred the chicken burger. My friend had the kroket and a few other things and she enjoyed them all.... More

If you've visited The Netherlands but not chosen to indulge in 'unlocking' a FEBO fried treat, then you should....TBH, the food is pretty uniformly grim, but, errrr, it's the 'buzz' that counts, right :/

Just had to try a kroket from the window. The cook had just topped it up it was fresh and hot. They will need to find a way to put mustard on it.

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
