We chose the 'complete' menu which had a specially curated selection of (fantastic) wine for each course! Perfectly cooked roasted duck was the main course and this was the best evidence of the high standard of quality you can expect here. If it's nice weather, go for the courtyard seating.

We have eat here with a family of 11 persons to celebrate the final study results and exams of one of the familymembers. It is a nice place in a caracteristic quarter of Amsterdam and especially in the weekend somewhat noisy, but cosy also. The food was very good and everyone was satisfied The wine was flowing plentifully and everybody... More

We happened upon this place while touring the lively neighborhood. We are so glad we chose it for our dinner. There were 7 of us, including 2 children. While not extensive, the menu is great, and the specials, including swordfish pasta, were remarkable. They fixed the children special meals that were not on the menu and made us feel quite... More

We stumbled into this restaurant while out and what a treat. The food was fantastic and the service was friendly and helpful and despite being the last customers there we never felt hurried to finish our meal!

The name and the decor is a little odd but don't let that put you off, we had a great meal. Out of the five of us I think I had the poorest dish and I thoroughly enjoyed it, which is perhaps a sign of how good the food was. The guinea fowl is particularly recommended, as are the fried... More

I went there with group of friends, first time, service was very good, waiter offered free jugs of water, this is uncommon for European restaurant. Very nice detail! Set menu at EURO25 is a great deal. I ordered Octopus salad as starter, surprised by its tenderness, main course roasted duck leg was well done as well. Overall, very happy with... More

We dined here early this week and can't recommend it enough. The food was exquisite and the service was great. The restaurant doesn't look up to much but as the title says 'don't judge a book by its cover'. All courses were great and the wine was delicious. I got the three course option on the menu which I'd highly... More

This is a lively neighbourhood place with good food. The 3 course menu at 25 euros is fantastically priced and delicious. Ala carte selections also super. Make sure you reserve because it's usually busy. Wait staff is great even when it's packed.

Description
Restaurant in the centre of Amsterdam Burgers Patio Restaurant is renowned in the Jordaan for its cosy atmosphere and its emphasis on providing quality affordable food and friendly service. Established in 1984 in the premises of former butcher 'Burger', our restaurant is the perfect setting to enjoy an excellent meal in an open and sociable atmosphere. French Italian cuisine Offering modern French-Italian cuisine with international accents, our dishes are made with free-range meat, ecologically responsible seafood and seasonal produce. Everything from our bread to our "bonbon" chocolates is house made. Our menu provides at least two vegetarian starter and main course options and a broad selection of organic wines. Romantic outside dining During the summer our patio is an oasis of Mediterranean tranquillity within the city centre of Amsterdam where you can dine underneath grape vines, passion plants and the starry sky. Our front terrace provides tables for two or four with a wonderful view of the Westerkerk tower

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
