This is a great location if you are going to a concert at the concertgebouw. It is a elegant, good service, good food, and reasonable prices. You can arrange reservations on their website. I noted vegan and vegetarian options on the menu.

The meal was amazing and the service excellent, my husband chose an fantastic bottle of wine to go with the meal and we all stayed for coffee and desert which we don't normally do in a restaurant. This restaurant has been forever on my list. Situated in my favorite street of Amsterdam we had a wonderful evening. The staff was great, friendly, real and personal. They also had good knowledge about the products and the wines. The dishes were very nice, fresh products, classic dishes wish I love (Take the steak tartare!). Definitely a recommendation to go... Reservations are recommended. Popular place with concert goers to the nearby Concertgebouw. I tried the Creamy soup of sauerkraut with black pudding and Serano-ham crumble -what a treat! For the main dish I took the ribeye with squid and paella à la van Baerle - it was excellent. I have been going to this restaurant two three times a year... More

Went there with a group from work. The staff were very friendly and polite, and made good recommendations on what to eat. Steak was delicious, and the chef recommended to have it medium well, which was delicious. It had a great ambiance, and we had a lovely night. Would love to go back.

This is a very pleasant and elegant neighbourhood restaurant. Service is good and friendly, but a little slow. The food is of fine quality for a substantial, but reasonable price as expected in a restaurant at this level in Amsterdam. They specialize in fish, but the special entrecote menue is a good deal and the meat very good with a... More

Located in a nice area, very classic restaurant. As a business dinner the upper level was reserved for us. Nonetheless service was perfect, food was very nice. Great to go with your love or friends.

Found this little out of the way place while walking. Simply a treasure. We had no reservation but they accommodated us and treated us like royalty. Will go back for certain.

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
