Service and food were both fine, but basically just a bit underwhelming considering the cost. I would go back and give it another try, but I would order something that would have to be cooked to order.

Fairly busy restaurant with reasonably prompt service. Pangsit goreng starter quite nice. Chefs special was ok as was my nasi goreng though we have had better in Indonesia, Singapore and elsewhere. Not on my list for must go again.

I passed by the restaurant around 7pm to see if they have a table for 3 persons at 9pm. Unfortunately they didnt had a table until 10pm, which was luckly... More

It is an Indinesian cuisine, very unique, or as the restaurant declairs: The name of the mane menue or the right way to eat there is "Rijsttafel" in Dutch, which means in English "Rice-Table" - the Indonesian table should include tasty colouful dishes with rice at the center of the table. The restaurant proves that it is not just a slogan:... More

Our first RIJSTTAFEL experience . Wow! Bring an appetite and have a meal you will never forget. We had the Bali. All fish, seafood. So good. Spiced with lemongrass, chilis and some heat in some dishes. We appreciated the patient courteous service. Would be great for couples or especially for larger groups. Festive atmosphere. Just a lovely spot. Right by... More

Contrary to the past, today's core value of Kantjil seems to be: give the client as little for their money as possible. I have been a client for more than 4 years now and until recently I was more than happy with their food and service, but in the last few weeks I have been served so badly and been... More

This comfy but busy Indonesian restaurant in Spui is a great place to enjoy one of the classic meals of A-dam: the rijsttafel. Our family of three split a rijsttafel plus one additional entree. It was $100, but completely worth it! Your stomach will be so happy with how you treated it, you'll smile for hours. When you get back... More

When I visited Amsterdam I didn't expect to be eating Indonesian until I found out that Indonesia was once a Dutch colony. There was an amazing selection of freshly cooked dishes as part of the rice table (known as Rijsttafel). There was four of us and we had 2 as part of the rice table then a handful of other... More
