The food is decent and even good although the place will not provide sufficient choice for children. Our meal was enjoyable. However we had made (in person) a reservation for a table outside, overlooking the canal, and when we showed up we were only offered a table deep inside on the second floor. Apart from the fact that we felt... More

If you are able to reserve a table outside next to the canal, you will have a three-canal view on Brouwersgracht both ways and down the Herengracht. Spectacular. Lunch menu items include warm courses but also sophisticated sandwiches. Service is pleasant and attentive.

Our Viking cruise guide recommended this resturant. Food was great, nice presentation, and friendly staff. Portions are rather small, so recommend ordering an appetizer and/or side to accompany the entree. We ordered the asparagus soup to start and it was heavely. Darling resturant that seemed to have a mix of tourists and locals. It is small and rather crowded. We... More

Lovely dinner in a charming art nouveau inspired setting. Dinner of asparagus soup and lamb osso buco was delicious. When full, it is very noisy.

We wanted a special meal on our last day in Amsterdam and booked from England well in advance. It turned out to be a chilly day in May so we sat indoors at a table for 2, looking out upon flowers and the wide canal as we enjoyed our leisurely lunch. There was a €45 set lunch menu, so delicious!... More

I had a lunch at De Belhamel with my wife and my older son on 06th of May 2017 when we were at tourist trip in Amsterdam. It was Saturday afternoon, nice and shiny weather and we were sitting outside at the small terrace near canal. Very nice atmosphere there, kind and professional waiters and really extremely excellent food! I... More

Oddly I ate at this restaurant a few weeks ago so when it started to rain quite heavily and I was without an umbrella, I was happy to see the door open. I stepped inside to a mostly empty restaurant and although it was raining quite heavily, the waiter standing at the door looked at me and asked if he... More

Do not miss the fondue. This '70s craze is still alive and well at DeBelhamel. Perhaps one of the best fondue I've ever had. Beginners should start with the Swiss fondue; feel free to mix it up a little. Be sure to get the fruits and vegetables as well as the bread. Unusual, but so delicious. I might go back... More

My girlfriend and I really liked our dinner at this place. The atmosphere is informal and the staff quite friendly. We had a table at the window overlooking the canal so pretty romantic. The food was good with a few options (without being ambitious). There is a set menu or a la carte. We found prices to be quite reasonable... More

Description
Restaurant De Belhamel is located at the junction of two of Amsterdam’s most beautiful canals, the Brouwersgracht (“Brewers’ canal”) and the Herengracht (“Gentlemen’s canal”). It is one of the city’s prettiest spots, quietly situated at the edge of the Jordaan area and offering splendid views on both canals. In summer lunch and dinner are served outside in these lovely surroundings. Not only the location, also the restaurant’s interior is unique: the venue is entirely decorated in the early 20th century Art-Nouveau style, with many original details. The restaurant and entresol give a view over the canals, the bar offers a fine opportunity to enjoy an aperitif before dinner. From 2007 onwards Michelin has rewarded De Belhamel with a ‘Bib Gourmand’.We are looking forward to welcoming you at De Belhamel.
