We struggled to find decent food at decent value in Amsterdam. It's very hard to distinguish between somewhere genuine and another overpriced tourist trap. I did some trip advisor research and decided upon this place for dinner. 3 courses for €14.95 before 9pm is excellent value and there were enough choices on this menu for us. We chose the house... Great beer and food, the staff is polite and helpful. During our stay we came here few times . They also have excellent prices of a three course menu but often it can be really full in the evening and difficult to find a table.

Just happened to walk past this place and decided to try it out and we were not disappointed! Probably enjoyed this restaurant experience the most when we were staying in Amsterdam. The place is very cosy and has a great relaxing atmosphere to it. Value for money is great too! Drinks were cheap and the 14euro three course menu was... More

It was nice to be able to sit at our picnic bench style table and people watch along the roadside. Very close to dam... More

We were advised to go here by our local walking tour guide. And I would say that it was good recommendation. For 14,95 EUR you will get 3 dishes menu set which was quite big for one person and quite tasty, good variety of drinks in the bar and cheap prices. The service was a bit slow because of too... Came here for dinner with my girlfriend one evening. Our food was delicious, and the prices were cheap. It has a nice laid back atmosphere. Highly recommend if you are in Amsterdam.

We came here twice yesterday as we loved the ambience and oldy style. The food looked awesome. We had a few beers and listened to the great music that was being played by staff. Very friendly and fun staff.

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
