I've often stood outside gazing at the cake selection in the window. Decided to sample their apple pie with a café latte. I could cope with the tiny tables and makeshift chairs and the constant flow of customers coming in, but my apple pie (huge...More

We went here to get some food for our trip home. We choosed different quiches and a bread with salami. It was ok, but nothing special. I guess its different when you sit down and take one of the really good looking sweat things.

We sought out this place based on reviews, and were quite disappointed. The apple pie was bland, apples had no tartness or any flavor actually, cinnamon was dumped onto the fruit in tasteless lumps, dough was very poorly made and quite raw. Avoid. It's a...More

I'm sorry but unless you're lucky enough to get one of the few seats at the balcony with a view of the canal, you'll end up in a crowded and uncomfortable cafe with a very average cup of coffee and a rustic piece of cake....More

About a 10-15 minute walk from our hotel on Dam Square, this is a quick breakfast spot to head to before starting your day. Perfect for an energising coffee and fresh pastry, with a friendly service. A quick tip is to head there early to...More

This place is one reason I will return to Amsterdam. The food is freshly made and baked on site (the bakery preparation area is on full display towards the back) and if you stick around long enough you will see them bake in front of...More

We had cooked food here, but seems the shop had a great selection of tasty-looking cakes and pastries (that we admittedly did not sample!). We had a mushroom quiche and the salad of the day, both of which were alright but not amazing. The mint...More

To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the

well, French Toast a la De laatste Kruimel is done I think with a big croissant instead of a slice of bread. We made French toast at home by beating a bit of milk in an egg and dowsing the piece of bread in the mixture... More
