We booked into this Indonesian restaurant for a Saturday evening in early March - the place was reasonably busy as we arrived but thinned out quite quickly. The decor was a bit old fashioned but the ambiance was warm and welcoming enough. We both like Indonesian food with its rich mix of ingredients such as coconut, peanut sauce and exotic... More

Small upstairs, rather quiet restaurant with Indonesian food. Tried the Rijsttafel. Not too spice, some of it reasonably spicy. Stronger on request.

Nice restaurant. Dishes were fine, service was fine too. Too much food, we could not finish. Not crowded.

Forty years ago the must-try meal in Amsterdam was the rijstaffel, an Indonesian meal of rice with lots of little tasty dishes and condiments. There are still restaurants maintaining the connection with the old "Dutch East Indies". We ordered the cheapest rijstaffel at Srikandi and it was delicious; very nicely spiced not too hot with many chicken, vegetable, pork and... More

We have eaten here before, but on this occasion were interested to observe Indonesian people among the eaters. The service is friendly. A rijstaffel is an occasional treat, and an artificial creation, but good once in a while.

While the restaurant is attractive, the service friendly and attentive, the presentation good and the portions generous, the rijsttafel was very disappointing. The food was over-cooked, under-seasoned, and very disappointing.

We have never eaten Indonesian and thought individuals held the establishment in high reguard. We ordered a menu that had about 15 items and am sorry to say that none of them were appealing, even the rice was tasteless. Think twice when entering the establisment, I am sorry to report

Eat here one evening and had a "rice table", many small dishes. Decor, service etc was good but I had built my expectations having heard that Indonesian food was different. The dishes we were offered were simply bland and the meal was not cheap.

This is a really nice little restaurant. The standard of service is good and the food is fragrant and delicious with lots of lovely, delicate flavours. Portions are large.

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
