I ordered a penne with smoked salmon. It seemed too oily but very tasty and I could digest it very well.

The Hilton Hotel recommended this friendly neighborhood Italian restaurant and we really enjoyed it. The house red wine and the salads and pastas were delicious. A colleague had the tuna and didn't love it, but beyond that, this was a great find. They were very nice to seat us quickly on a Friday night, without a reservation.

We found this place by coincidence as we were walking through the shopping district. It was a very good find. Food was very good and the wine was properly priced. I had the avocado ravioli with salmon which I thought was going to be a misorder but turned out to be absolutely wonderful. The pizza seemed a bit underwhelming so... More

Had a wonderful meal, lovely end to a great few days in Amsterdam. Service was wonderful and the food superb!! The weather was still warm enough for us to dine outside with the help of a couple of heaters and blankets. Great profiteroles for dessert.

Everything was prepared from fresh ingredients, properly cooked and served. Wines were reasonably priced for the Netherlands. Service was excellent. The restaurant is in a nice area near our short-term apartment.

Nice place, nice people, good service. Unfortunately the lasagna was not very good. Café espresso was good though! Prices are on the high side, in line with the area.

Prices are up there. Enjoyed a good rose and dinner was superb. Italian waiter was very good. A nice little find close to our hotel.

It was very busy, clearly popular. The wine list was ridiculous! Only 3 whites by the glass and even a mediocre Pinot Grigio by the bottle was 44 euros. We were told "they did not serve tap/table water" so had to buy a bottle (along with the beer and wine). Bottle of water was 6 Euro! The arrabiata, whilst pleasant,... More

We were staying at an apartment on Willemsparkweg and found this just around the corner. Our service was quite good. Outdoor seating pleasant on a mild September evening. Good pizza and pasta at reasonable prices, with some fancier meat disher. We would go back.

Food was quite decent but the service was terrible from start to finish. Waited 20minutes for a menu, then waited a further 20 minutes before an order was taken. Food came an hour later and was ok but not excellent. We were pretty much rudely ignored. We ordered desert when they took away our dinner plates and then had to... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
