This was my first eat-out in AMS. Just landed in de Pijp, asking around where to eat, "Moksi!" He serves, she cooks. I eat vegetarian; so i had the Roti. Yummy. The place is small, unpretentious, but an experience in itself of calm simplicity and simple good taste. They also cater, i was told. So, they may be away for... More

This tiny restaurant is a short tram ride from the centre and the usual tourist haunts, but easy to reach and well worth hunting out for a refreshing change of pace and character. The food and the service/welcome are both outstanding. Charming owner and wonderful welcoming service. The other diners were local people relaxing and enjoying a tasty good value... More

Had a lovely night there. The restauraunt only had about 5 tables so it was extra cozy. Talked to the owner extensively who told us everything we needed or wanted to know. The food was superb and we had a blast. Prices were great as well!

The owner couple were absolutely charming and the Surinamese food was a revelation! Frequented by locals in the know. Try the cassava cakes by all means!

This restaurant is in the busy De Pijp neighbourhood- perfect stop after you have visited the Heineken brewery and the Albert Cuyp Market. The food is delicious- it is made from scratch by one of the owners. Her husband, the other owner, is the one who runs the front of this small restaurant. It's low key, the price is right... More

After walking past streets of over-trendy steak houses and tapas bars, we found moski. We've not experienced Malaysian food before but we have a love of Indian, Vietnamese and Caribbean and found the food here was excellent. Living in London, we're used to small, good quality authentic restaurants from all over the world

A modest restaurant in De Pijp, an area in Amsterdam frequented by dutch people, not very touristic. This one is a perfect place to try a honest surinamese cooking. Very friendly. 10-15 €.

Staying in De Pijp

Neighbourhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
