Fantastic cakes baked on the premises. Small area to sit downstairs but there is a larger area above the shop. Extensive choice of cakes, coffees and teas. The slices are HUGE and very filling! We passed a few cake shops but this one had a good range of cakes.

Go there now for a delicious sandwich or one of there classy cakes, you won't regret it. A little gem hidden behind the famous Dam Square, and very well priced!

Gosh, the cakes are amazing here. If I have time for coffee and cake, I always take my friends and family to this place. A slice costs around the 4 euros, but the sizes are huge though! And luckily you can get a doggiebag if you cannot finish it :) Coffee is good, waitresses are friendly and café is cosy.... More

having read some of the reviews here, we decided to visit this place while we were in amsterdam.Firstly let me say that it was packed. It consists of 2 buildings which are side by side. In one of the buildings you can sit for lunch or for desserts, while the second one is for desserts only. Both were fully packed... More

Absolutely the best American cakes and cupcakes outside of the US itself, a slice of heaven! The cake slices are huge, maybe best to share than try and eat by yourself.

What a great place to get your day going. We stopped in for a quick treat of red velvet cake, and hot chocolate. Everything was good, the service, view, and food. It's in a great location as well. Trams run right past, so easily accessible. There is good shopping around, with the center at your fingertips.

Wanted something different, I tried the gluten free chocolate cake. A bit dry but generally tasty. I think if I went again, I should probably try what this place seems to be known for: the American style frosted cakes.

Once my favorite cake shop in Amsterdam. Now unfortunately it is time to find a new one. I ordered a red velvet cake for a birthday party. We sliced it into pieces just an hour after we got it from the bakery, but it was already quite dry and just didn't taste as good it did in the past. The... More

I went here with a few friends after an event nearby. We went for coffee and a light snack. It being a small place and having a large event nearby the place was packed. There was a ten minute wait or so for a table upstairs. It was cramped waiting in the hallway with a few other people. The staff... More

Staying in Centrum

Neighbourhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
