Eight of us and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Mainly a meat place, the beef and fish courses were exceptionally good. Pleasantly Surprised by the quality of the entrees too, especially the snail (yes ... That's what is described on the menu) and the scallops. Great place to congregate and have a nice time amongst friends

We were to arrive in Amsterdam late and many places close by 10pm. We got a table here for 10.30pm. The service was great from start to finish. We had carpaccio (divine!!) and the lamb. So succulent. We were advised a bottle of wine to accompany our meal which was a perfect and surprisingly good match for the low price!... More

I visited this restaurant before going to a classic concert in the Concertgebouw. It is a cosy ambiance, but the atmosphere is a bit weary and routineous. The same is valid for the food: the baked cod I ordered had been cooked far too long, which spoiled this delicate fish. Service and cooking need more attention and real interest in... More

We had fish and steak - the food was great! High quality and good taste. The Service was simply said: arrogant and not really listening. The location as such is really nice.

I was here with friends three years ago, and at that time recommended the place. The quality has not changed, the friendly service has not changed. Absolutely worth the effort of moving 10 mins. out of center of Amsterdam.

Although the menu is not extensive, nor is the wine list but this place makes up for that with good food and excellent service. There were mainly locals eating here and it is clear they think the restaurant deserves its good reputation

It's a restaurant with the feel of a pub. Try the steak or liver. It always comes with a starter salad for free. Good value.

I have dined here for many years, most frequently after attending concerts at the very nearby concertgebouw. It is consistently outstanding. Service attentive, food varied and of the highest quality, atmosphere welcoming. Whenever I come to Amsterdam I look forward to returning to this lovely venue, which is associated for me with many very pleasant memories.

During the annual IBC Broadcasting Event in Amsterdam I had dinner at De Knijp two times and each time the service and quality of the food served was excellent. De Knijp is located near the Concertgebouw and only a 15 minute drive away from the Rai. I am looking forward to enjoying de Knijp next year again.

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
