The waitresses were nice but they won’t give you a very personal or close treatment. We were 4 people, we asked for 5 different dishes (which is way too much food for 4) and the waitress didn’t make any recommendations about it. Dishes are big! Chinese pork didn’t taste well. Besides that, all good.

The best place in Amsterdam for Dim Sum in my opinion. A big variety of Dim Sum to choose from and they also serve other dishes. Usually go there for lunch on weekends but this time we went for dinner and I was positively surprised about how they changed the way they serve the food. It looks much classier now and the portions seemed bigger so definitely a plus point there! Only a minus point for the average interior but then again it adds something authentic to it.

Delicious food, large portions and big prices, spent over €200 on food and drink there and had to flag down staff in order to get our order taken after 25 minutes and waited 30 minutes and then had to ask about for our sharing platter starter, nobody checked on us, only able to order 1 drink. Then waited another 30 minutes for the bill after asking 3 times for it, then for us to be asked if we wanted to pay a service charge and when we said no we were asked 3 more times, waitress tone changed and very rude and then went back to other waitresses and pointed and spoke loudly about us then as we left. Fantastic food but the service is shocking bad. I would leave a service tip if I felt necessary as I'm aware of how important they are to staff, but they need to at least deserve it and not be asking directly for it,prices are very expensive already.

We came here on a Sunday evening and probably should have taken heed of the peeling wallpaper in the foyer but we were hungry so we went in. The decor is pretty dated. Salmon pink tablecloths and very bright ceiling spotlights made for a very uncomfortable ambience. The food was rubbish, we had black pepper beef ribs which turned out to be tons of veal in a gelatinous sauce. When we asked what the meat was (because it was white) they said it was young beef. Hmm. The sizzling chicken was not sizzling and tasted exactly the same as the beef. There was not a vegetable in sight in either dish. Oh but it’s ok as you get a bowl of free plain, tasteless boiled rice with your €80 meal. We overheard the couple behind us have a row with the unrepentant manager because they had been charged €18 for some fried rice. Then to top it all off the waitress was desperate for us to pay and had to shoo her away as I hadn’t finished my beer. I would say if you are in Amsterdam and want a Chinese meal, definitely do not come here. Like, really.

they make you sit at a table in the room promising to move to one near the window when free, but then they tell you that you can't because booked ... but they don't take reservations. Pay attention to what they bring you, they always try to bring you more courses or different from the one you ordered . liars and unkind.

My wife and I and 2 friends had "diner" here on Tuesday 28th January. Lovely deco, lovely restaurant to look at. BUT 1. Very Very Expensive 2. Waiter was extremely rude, not to use personally but I waitnessed how he treated a group of 'smokers', he spoke down to them, ignored them and treated them like they shouldn't even have been there.

Visited on the last night of our holiday feeling tentative from the recent poor reviews. On arrival, we were there 5 minutes early and so were turned away to queue on the stairs with the Uber drivers and people waiting for takeaways. When we were allowed in we were shocked at the prices instantly. Around €30 euros for rice is a lot in anyones mind I’m sure. Nevertheless we decided to stay and original ordered quite a lot but were advised by the kind waiter of the difference in portion sizes in the UK vs at this restaurant so he recommended more suitable dishes and quantities and he was right. The food was delicious and far more than enough. We ordered won tons, dim sum, beef noodles and kung pao chicken and it was A LOT. It was really nice and fresh and we enjoyed it. However, it was a lot of money. We payed over £80 for this food and 2 small drink. Service was excellent the entire meal up to the end when we asked for the bill when it took 25 minutes to arrive. Overall, we wouldn’t return purely based on the price. There are a lot of other fantastic options some of which I’ve tried previously and I believe you pay for the view at the restaurant alone. We were not pressured to leave a tip as some others were.

Yesterday I went to this restaurant, if I can call it a restaurant, and I order pekenise duck, rice, spring rolls and a couple of wontons, well, first of all they bring me the main course instead of the appetizers, but the main course which was the duck pekenise was cold as hell and the rice the same when you tasted it you can tell how it was cooked twice and it was probably leftovers from another day you just put a bit of soy sauce on it and then just served it the duck was completely full of oil on the base of the plate, the duck meat was very hard to bite into, when the waitress came with the appetizers I tried to tell her that the duck was impossible to eat, but she was gone in a heartbeat. the spring rolls and dim sum are probably frozen like all the food that they have but the worst is just to come the price of the duck if I can call it that is almost €28 almost the price of a plate in a restaurant michelin start, after 10 minutes of waiting for someone come to our table I tell the waitress to take the duck out of the bill because I didn't even touch it, she told me I have to pay for it because once the food is served you can't return it , I said, can I speak to the manager?? because I'm not paying for that food, and then the manager comes with a really disrespectful tone. I was polite throughout, but he offered me to pay the half of the price of the plate because I ate one. piece, I said no, I'm not going to pay for this because it's impossible to eat and I didn't touch it, the manager took the plate very aggressively and almost spilled the sauce on us, he finally agreed to take the plate out of the bill , but the moment it was so uptight, that such a person shouldn't be running a restaurant, or even dealing with customers. So if you are in Amsterdam and want to eat proper food and have a good time, avoid this restaurant, it is expensive, the food quality is really bad, and the service is even worse and they take advantage of tourists because they know they don't they will return, TRAP FOR TOURISTS

The waiter was very arrogant and had an extremely bad service. When we needed to order something she was no where to be found, however when we were paying for the bill she demanded/forced us to pay her 10% service fee. As a person who's been to Amsterdam dozens of times and lived in Europe my whole life, this was by no means any sort of local tradition. The food was good, for the two of us we ordered around 100€, however the waiter's attitude and audacity to force us to pay her "mandatory 10% service fee" is in no circumstances acceptable. If I'm happy with the service, then I will be more than happy to tip her, but according to what law or right can she force us two to tip her?

I met another person here for dim sum, so I didn't select the restaurant. You take stairs to the second floor where many of the tables are placed against windows with a nice view. The service was friendly and that part was just fine. The assortment of dishes (dumplings, ribs, pork rolls) were all unappealing. The food was pretty much tasteless and very boring. I didn't each much of it and went to McDonald's later for a "Chili Chicken" sandwich that tasted divine !

Dim Sum in Amsterdam is so expensive compared to the other cities in the Netherlands. But Oriental City borders on the ridiculous with their recent price hike. For example shumai pork dumpling portion of 4 is an astounding 9,90€. That’s almost 10€ for 1 dish. Cheungfan 7,50€. These are crazy prices even for amsterdam. And we got a real sticker shock when we got the bill. So please be warned. To be honest the other well known places are rather expensive too like seapalace and full moon. But I doubt they came to 10€ for 1 portion of Shumai. A reasonable place in Amsterdam is One Dim Sum. Or jade restaurant in Osdorp. Otherwise you need to go to Rotterdam or The Hague.

Went here for dinner, all the food we ordered was very below average and when we attempted to send back our 25 euro fried rice that tasted like it was 5 days old, our waiter refused and said that it wasn’t her fault and proceeded to make us pay. Also claimed that the manager was too busy to speak to us when we asked to speak to them. Was insanely overpriced for what we received. Would not recommend.

The portions of the food were abundant and the quality acceptable but the prices are ABSOLUTELY EXPENSIVE ( 25 euros for almost each portion on the menu). I am shocked by the fact that outside they put a whole range of different prices (see the picture), obviously much more affordable but not present on the menu they offer you, and on the website the prices are not mentioned. This is really dishonest. In addition to that, they charge you for the tap water, something I never experienced in any place so far! So I do not recommend this place!

Totally reserved and nearly fully booked at 12 noon on a Monday, 99% Asian clientele, must be good, freezing cold temps outside so looking forward to wanton soup. At least 1/2 hour before it arrived. Then my main lunch eggplant arrived in a reasonable time-quite expensive but the portion was huge so I ended up bringing 1/2 home. Very tasty. You would think that an old establishment like this would pay their waitstaff enough to provide decent service. We hadn’t been here in a few years. Probably won’t be back soon.

We were a bit unsure when we first looked at the menu as it seemed quite pricey and not your typical Chinese dishes. However we were pleasantly surprised, the food was amazing and the service was great. This is in a great location and no need to book. We shared a selection of starters, followed by Sweet & Sour Chicken and Half a Crispy Duck, all main dishes come with a side of rice. I can honestly say this is some of the best chinese food I have tasted.
