Visited for some drinks and snacks (famous Dutch bitterballen). Fabulous experience, sitting outside, watching people stroll by, spontaneous street band performance, on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Of special interest is the fact that the beer that is promoted here (with the old Dutch name of...Swinckels’) is made from Cascade hop from the Yakima valley. Who knew? Come and try it out, or pick any of the other superb beers on tap.More
We had a lunch menu from the card at Van Buuren. Besides we took two coffee and a tea. The lunch was quickly served and we rather heavy. The quality was acceptable. The price was € 16 pp. The location is fine. Not bad.
Perfect hideway. A great place to a drink and cheese plate after/before visiting the marvelous christmas market. Nice athmosphere and big teracce with good food and drinks at affordable prices. Veryyy friendly and Professional staff
I was walking in the beautiful town of Maastricht and I’ve found by chance a nice square full of restaurants (there is also a surprisingly church behind).
As the dinner time was approaching I’ve decided to run for Van Buuren, despite the ranking of TripAdvisor.....The waiter was very kind telling me a table would have been ready in 15 minutes. So, I’ve waited outside the restaurant, drinking a good beer.
Once my turn arrived, a comfortable table was ready for us.
I’ve chosen a Van Buuren steak and a double beer. The steak, served with frites, is meat (beef) with vegetables on top. Delicious! Also the dessert was unforgettable, a good coffee with three mini dessert.
To conclude, the bill was again a surprise: around 25/30 euro per person.
Try it if you’re in Maastricht!More
Try the homemade ice tea! It is to die for.
We chose this place despite the iffy reviews and were positively surprised.
The service was attentive and good. We waited for our main course but they were swamped with guests so it was ok.
The...fish and chips were too huge to finish, the steak perfectly done.
All in all good on a warm summers day.More
Ok...last week was a incredible warm weather in the Netherlands, so having dinner out was the perfect choice to spend your time in the nice city center of Maastricht...but Van Buuren was really a great and pleasant surprise!!!
Very next to the nice landscape offert...by Onze Lieve Vrouwebasiliek you can breath the atmosphere of the old centuries and taste flemish cuisine: I had spare ribs with the inevitable french fries...drinking belgian beer...what could you ask more??
The desert was also good...and the service prompt and nice...the final bill?? In line with a restaurant placed in the historical city center that offers not the usual turistic menu...so believe me...Italians like Van Buuren!!!!!More
This is a perfect place inbetween or after shopping. Situated in the very heart of the city, offering a splendid terrace (even in winter). The food is more than correct, service very friendly and swift. Gets crowdy in the evening, so book a table.
