I have been looking for a good Sushi place in Zurich for quite a while, and Ginger stands out from the rest. Let's start with the most important thing, the food. The fish overall was incredibly fresh and the well picked. The salmon was like butter! The Sushi was really well prepared, and the rolls were well crafted so that... More

Consistently outstanding quality and creative dishes. Dined at Ginger the first week it opened in 1990 and have been back regularly--it's simply the best!

Sushis were amazing and well presented, the best I had in Zurich. The atmosphere of the restaurant is great. However the waitress that took care of us was quite unfriendly which is the only criticism I have.

This is a trendy sushi place with nice ambience in the evening. Were sitting at the bar (conveyor belt). Quality of sushi is very good, but choice somewhat limited. There is no food menu at the bar, but you can ask the staff if you would like to have something special which is not on the conveyor belt. Staff is... More

At my wife’s suggestion, we decided to give Ginger a try after attending a nearby event. The restaurant has two sections, one à-la-carte, and one conveyor. We’ve dined à-la-carte countless times but never on a conveyor, an easy choice, really. While this is a self-serve section, it is NOT an all-you-can-eat. We knew that going in but I can imagine... Typically well attended during the week, we had a small table in the bar. You get your food either small a very small sushi train or better, just order what you like from the very friendly staff. We picked 2 items from the internet, no problem. Japanese staff prepare everything on order and do it very well. There is a... More

We are sushi lovers and went there with good friends after a almost 10 years break. Being used to sushi the quality is clearly very good. The proces are cery high but you get interesting combinations esp the tuna tartar with an egg.

I have read other reviewers of Sushi places. Compared to all the other ones in central Zurich...Ginger is by far the best fish and overall best sushi. Yoojis, Yens, Metropole, Jemoli, and Globus are not in the same class.

Paying the prices asked for at Ginger is not justified by the product/service they deliver. Fish and ingredients were fresh and fairly competently prepared but the choice of dishes at the sushi bar was dismal. A watery Miso soup for CHF 9.- was the final insult. Best deal was the house sake.
