Sat outside on a warm sunny evening. Fantastic choice on a large and varied menu. Food was very good and service was very friendly and efficient.

Cute little place on a side street not far from our hotel. We sat outside and had a lovely meal. I asked our waiter for a recommendation and he suggested the beef stroganoff and my hubby got the wiener schnitzel. Their version of stroganoff was not what you'd expect. I don't recall it being made with sour cream, but interestingly... More

We checked out Cafe du Grutli based on Rick Steve's recommendation, and found it to be okay. There wasn't anything particularly positive or negative. We had the cheese fondue (served with bread and potatoes) and found it to be fine. Deer sausage was better, served with a yummy currant jam. The service was very nice, and prompt. Atmosphere was alright,... More

We were searching for a traditional Swiss restaurant to try the cheese fondue.. The problem was that once inside, the menu was a never ending list of wonderful delicacies from the region. So we ended up trying some bone marrow broth, snails, tripe and of course the fondue. Oh wow.. Taste at its best.. And add that the owners are... More

Just what we needed having just landed in Switzerland tonight. Our concierge (at Des Voyageurs...also 5 star) recommended this restaurant and it didn't disappoint. Friendly personal and efficient service plus a delicious cheese fondue. We also had meat fondue which was lovely but the cheese one took the biscuit. Having read reviews I was expecting something modest in size but... More

This place was recommended to us by the hotel concierge. We staggered into the restaurant after a long day of walking around Montreux and Lausanne. The welcome was warm from the get-go -- the waitress was very helpful and answered all our questions about the various fondue options. We sat downstairs (looked like upstairs was not open maybe due to... More

A place for a cheese fondue or some local traditional meals. Twice was good but rather expensive. The service was ok but not particularly in line with this kind of place. Finally, not my favorite of the Brasserie in Lausanne... But average, at my opinion.

Brilliant fondue, cosy & homely atmosphere. Not only this but it is run by the most amazing family - you are always welcome and made to feel at home. The Grütli is a place not to miss if you are coming through Lausanne.

We went to the Grütli after a visit in the Hermitage museum. We had a cheese fondue moitié-moitié for two (a child and a grown up). The portion was just enough, but two men would have been hungry afterwards. The mixed salad was poor, so was the steak frites. Frites and steak looked a lost in the plate, frites were... More

I choose to eat a "Fricassée de champignons" that was proposed for 32CHF, but the served plate was a bit disappointing. It was with few mushroom taste and so few mushrooms (about ten small pieces only). Very sad plate...
