Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Booked this for our only night in Zermatt and absolutely thrilled with our experience. Janine welcomed us and checked back on how we were doing later. Other staff were equally pleasant and helpful. But the food!! Thank you so much for every single delightful mouthful....The Roti is amazing as is the desserts but my hero was the brioche ❤️ well done everyone I hope to visit again.More

This special restaurant is across from the Gornergrat terminal, departure end. If you have a large party, ask for the private upstairs dining room. It's just like a dining room in a large private chalet. And you will have it all to yourself. The food...is full of amazing flavors. Each main dish is very small, since you are expected to order an appetizer, two or three main dishes, dessert and the cheese plate to finish per person The experience is the reason to go. But be prepared for the sticker shock when the final bill arrives. This is an extremely expensive restaurant. RichardMore

Without a doubt, the best restaurant in Zermatt! French fine dining. Small, delicious, fresh plates. Perfectly created food. Charming staff, attentive but not effusive. We had a really wonderful dinner, ate too many dishes, but couldn’t resist wiping each plate clean with the yummy, home-made...bread. Eat here - it’s great!More

We were welcomed by the lovely Romain who was wonderfully attentive and professional through our lunch. As a dining experience it was first class and deserves its top rating on Trip Advisor. In fact it was a review on Trip Advisor that encouraged us to...visit! If you read my review and make a visit I promise you will not be disappointed. The quality of the food - its preparation, presentation and flavour was excellent. Romain could have recommended the most expensive wines but instead helped us choose the right wines to accompany our food. Please don't leave until you try their amazing patisserie. This is an excellent fine dining restaurant in Zermatt! Service is awesome and very accommodating. From our experience, good food is tricky to find in Switzerland. Of note this is fine dining so portions are smaller. 3-4 dishes filled us up and was well worth...it. All the dishes here are prepared by a personal chef and have a ton of flavor! The lamb dish is absolutely incredible. The espresso martinis are handmade and also awesome! Highly recommend this restaurant!More

Charming restaurant with impeccable, friendly service and outstanding food. We had the "Hummer Ravioli" (Lobster Ravioli), "Tomato I Burratta", and "Foie Gras gebraten" (fried foie gras) appetizers-delicious. For our mains, we had the "Lammfilet" (lamb filet) and the Beef dish which were amazing. For dessert...we had the Warm Berries with "balsamic reduction". That didn't sound good to me, but my wife said I would like it. She was right, sweet and delicious. The waitress was wonderful and engaging-genuinely interested in us and our travels. An unforgeable experience.tMore

My and my buddies Iresha and Zisis came here for a nice morning catch up... Wow! What a stunning view. Iresha ordered a raspberry tart and a cappuchino. I enjoyed a chocolate cake with strawberry filling and a cheeky glass of red wine! Haha! Never...too early for alcohol!!!!! Zisis devoured an English breakfast, as he just landed from Greece! He was so hungry! This was our first time catching up in over 5 years. And we were enjyoing our breakfasts whilst planning our next trip together, which will be...*drum roll*... Egypt! Thank you L'Atelier Grandsire for the cozy atmosphere whilst 3 real friends meet for breakfast...........More

We enjoyed the dîner we had at the restaurant. The food was excellent in the tradition of French Bistronomie at its best : lobster raviolis, swiss black angus, revisited tiramisu. The wine menu offers a good range of wines to pair with the dîner. Service...is nice and efficient, the place is quiet ; perfect to enjoy the dîner !More

Do not go to this restaurant if you are want a meal, the portions are less that those served to children, but are top end prices. They are beautifully presented, but are mere tasters and cannot claim to be a meal. We were also charged...CHF 9.50 for a bottle of water, this is more expensive than a glass of wine!More

This is the best meal I have ever had in Switzerland. Each dish was extremely delicate, with perfectly balanced flavors. The ravioli was fantastic, and the lobster ravioli was fresh and sweet, complemented by a rich broth. The ginger and lemongrass sauce with scallops was...a stroke of genius. The lamb and Brazilian risotto were also authentic and delicious. The dessert was flawless, truly impeccable.More

The food was very delicious! I did the food tasting four course meal and ended up getting 6 courses which was unexpected and appreciated. You can tell the chef goes above and beyond and really puts thought into every dish. The portions are SMALL so...if you plan on ordering an entree I would recommend ordering 2-3. The wine was good too. Service was excellent and attentive, they were so polite especially the gentleman whose name we didn’t catch. The food was packed with flavor and we left not feeling bloated. We found it to be very expensive but did enjoy the experience and would do it again . Recommend!More

If you're a foodie or passionate about good food...go here! Better than most Michelin restaurants I've been to. I have been to Michelin 1 and 2 star restaurants that are nowhere near as good as L'Atelier. This was one of our favorite dinners during our...9 days in Switzerland. The restaurant should have Michelin stars, it's that good! Every course was a visual and culinary delight. The restaurant has a fresh, welcoming , unpretentious and cozy environment with a nice view out huge windows or downstairs and outdoor seating. Another huge plus is that the restaurant allows one person to order the tasting menu and others can order dishes off the menu. They were flexible in how we crafted our 4 or 6 course tasting menu. I like tasting menus but my husband has some dietary restrictions so we were very happy to each get the experience we wanted. We loved our courses so much that we are going again tonight before we leave Zermatt. The owner was kind enough to jot down all the courses we had. to go along with my photos.More

Exceptional birthday dinner for my husband. We had the chef tasting menu. The best meal we had in Switzerland. The dishes were exotic. Wine selection was good too. The chef, his wife, and the waitress were very warm and sweet. Excellent services. We kept talking...about the experiences after we came home. Will definitely be back!More

Excellent Fine Cuisine. Bravo to the enterprising couple for their achievement and perseverance to create a jewel in Zermatt. It is very rare to find a dining experience where the ambience, service, food and wine are so well balanced.
