This restaurant is on the fancy side. The wait staff is very professional and dressed to the nines. We, on the other hand, were dressed very casually and that was OK too. We were treated like royalty and the service was impeccable. We had the...Chateaubriand, which was very good. The food was fresh, tasty and cooked perfectly. The views are awesome too. The meals here are pricey, but the service and the food justify the cost. It is a treat, but I would recommend a visit here while in town.More
The kitchen sold us at our first dinner, so we dined there, facing Mt. Eiger and its friends, all seven of our evenings in Murren. It was "hunt season," so we ordered a la carte rather than the "menu" and feasted on venison, wild bore...-- and, of course, veal -- in rich hunters' saucing. Service impeccable. Wine list includes a house fendant and pinot noir, bottled specially for Hotel Eiger, which are good value and up to the occasion. -- Tony EugeneMore
We arrived late on a Friday evening and got a table with the restaurant pretty much to ourselves. Impeccable service, romantic, and fabulous food. We had the chateaubraind. We have never had it before, it was amazing. With the meal you get your choice of...potatoes or spatzle, and 2 separate rounds of vegetables. All was very good. If I had to find one thing wrong, the price might be a little high. The view might be amazing during day light....it was dark when we dined. That in itself could account for the cost. It was all worth it to me.More
We stayed at the hotel for three nights and dined at the restaurant all three nights. It is surprisingly good and the service we received was really very professional and warm. During our visits we enjoyed the salmon, fondue, and the chateaubriand on our last...night. The chateaubriand is worth it for two people.More
Upscale menu with lots of choices. We had the chateaubriand one night, prepared exactly as we ordered it with an array of vegetables like cauliflower, red cabbage, spinach, broiled tomatoes, Brussels sprouts, zucchini. Roasted potatoes were crispy outside and creamy inside. Also served us delicious...noodles. Spanish wine was perfect complement. Food was served in two parts and kept warm on a heated surface.
Restaurant serves mini desserts so you can taste several. Creme brûlée delicious; rhubarb tiramisu was average.
Returned a second night and had the veal with cream sauce dish for two. It was good. Cheese fondue was good
Service by Sascha friendly and helpful. He made both of our evening dinners so pleasant.More
We enjoyed our rosti lunch in the cozy bar area. We were welcomed and served graciously. We noticed several families in the dining room with squawking kids, including one woman nursing at the table, and asked to be seated in a quiet area. We were...given a large table and soon another three people joined our table. We had a great time exchanging advice about the area and everyone enjoyed their meals and beers.More
We dined at the Hotel Eiger’s restaurant, the food was great! The people that waited on us was a different story. We had multiple/different people bringing us things at different times during the meal, so it was hard to tell who our server was. We...felt overlooked, tucked away in the corner. When we did interact with someone, they were incredibly polite and professional, the place wasn’t that busy, but other tables around us seemed to have someone continually checking in with them, and we felt like we had to really try to get someone’s attention if we needed anything (drinks, the check, etc.) . Really enjoyed the venison, but wished we’d had a little bit better experience with the service.More
