Visited the Alte Post for dinner. My boyfriend and myself both ordered pasta, and some water for the table (clearly specified as tap water). When we got the bill we realised we had been charged CHF4.50 for a jug of tap water! I queried the waitress about this, who pointed to a spot on the menu where apparently this was... More

This restaurant was in the center of town, near everything. They actually had some parking spots reserved just for the restaurant as well. You could sit inside or outside too. They have live music every Wed night, a two person music only combo. The wait at this restaurant was about one hour. Was also kid friendly. The portions were also... More

Wednesday nights there are street festivals in Grindelwald, and eating on the street in front of the Alte Post is the place to dine if you want to see and hear all of the wonderful free entertainment. Local citizens sing, play musical instruments, and dance from about 8pm to 10pm and provide visitors with a wonderful touch of Swiss culture.... More

On a rainy night, this was the perfect cozy and traditional Swiss spot to settle in for dinner. Although I found my chicken on the salty side and their half portions were only 1 SF cheaper than the full portion, everyone found the service friendly and the live music nice.

Ate here a couple of times during our stay in the hotel of the same name. Good food, good service from polite and friendly staff and good value for money. Portions are extremely generous so go hungry! It has a warm and friendly atmosphere and we met some lovely people. Will definitely go again on our next trip to Grindelwald.

We had a very good meal at the restaurant. We had help choosing the Swiss wines, which were excellent. Well cooked, unpretentious food served in a lovely atmosphere and at a sensible price.

My family and I (7 of us), came here during lunch time. I was surprised that there was noone sitting outside when the weather was that beautiful. We sat together and the lady serving us was nice and friendly. I have a feeling that this restaurant is a family business because the lady's kid gave me the butter I asked.... More

We were advised by lady at reception of our hotel to visit this restaurant. We liked it more, than others we visited in Grindelwald. Typical swiss food, swiss atmosphere and very reasonable prices. I would suggest Alte Post everyone for dinner.
