We dined at this wonderful place weeks ago. The restaurant is very welcoming with very friendly and professional staff who will recommend the best wine for each dish but most importantly the food is fantastic!! I can recommend the tartare with porcini mushrooms, the plate...is from another planet... absolutely delicious!! I will definitely return on my next trip to the area...More

The restaurant is located at a balkony with a view on the main square. We shared some dishes. Definitely recommend the veal with truffel and the gnocchi.

Lovely restaurant with a terrace overlooking the Piazza del Commune. We came as part of our 30th wedding anniversary trip to places we’d known and loved on our honeymoon. It did not disappoint. Service was excellent. Pasta alla Norcia (truffles and sausage) as remembered. Burrata...with prosciutto delicious. Husband enjoyed onion and truffle tartlets and dish of the day meatballs. A fabulous bottle of Umbrian Sagrantino di Montefalco rounded things off nicely. We will be back!More

There is often a correlation between the quality of an establishment’s loo and it’s overall standard. In Italy, this theory often goes out of the window as I have dined fabulously in many restaurants yet been less than enamoured by the WC. In this case,...however, Taverna dei Consoli has lovely food, great views AND immaculate lavatories. If you’re in Assisi, I strongly recommend spending lunch (and a penny!) here.More

We had lunch in the nice terrace of this restaurant overlooking one of the main square of Assisi. The food was good but service a bit slow and price to quality ratio, for Umbria‘s standard, was not the best.

Our very first food in Assisi. One of the best food that we had during the trip. I had the gnocchi with gorgonzola and my wife, the lamb. The sommelier suggested an excellent cost-benefit wine (Villa Mongalli - Sagrantino Di Montefalco - 2010)

Hi, thank's for your positive comment. We hope to see you again.

I had a half portion of their pasta alla Norcina. It’s pasta with local ssausage in a cream sauce and truffles, a dish from Umbria, they rightly insist, not Tuscany. Here, at dei Consoli, it was really far and away the most delicious example of...this dish I’ve ever had. I then ate Italian (green) pepper steak next, and it was very good though a great steak is not so hard to find in central Italy. Such a delicate, lovely alla Norcina is. This is a great place —expensive, however. My dinner for one, with not very good beans, a good Negroni up front, a fine glass of house red (I sent back the first they offered) and a nice, but not exceptional dessert (pleasant chantilly with unwanted chocolate on top), was $70+. The primo and secondo were really wonderful, so it was worth it for me this time. I was happy.More

One of the best meals I ever had - veal ravioli with orange cream sauce. Very memorable. Will return for it.

Incredible restaurant. I went solo, enjoyed a quiet dinner, and—cut to an hour later—somehow wound up at a table of five other revelers sharing a bottle of wine. The gnocchi was one of the best meals I’ve had in my many trips to Italy. No...joke or hyperbole—it was excellent. I am not accustomed to truffle, but this gnocchi was incredible. I got two glasses of wine, the gnocchi, and a bottle of water for €29.50, which is a bit of a splurge for me but I was so pleased with it all. Francesco, the waiter, sommelier, and the son of the restaurant’s owners, was SUCH a good sport. I highly, highly recommend this restaurant. It’s a true family restaurant, and they take immense pride in what they do.More

We were lucky to get a table. We had to sit outside where it was chilly, but the food was superb. It beat any of the other places we ate in Assisi which is heavily touristed and offerings are pretty plebeian. But not this wonderful...place. If you can make a reservation and eat there every day you are in Assisi.More

I am not sure. You do have to go up some stairs, though they are not high, to even get to the entrance, as can be seen in some of the photos. Then there are stairs inside.
