We were hoping to have a romantic Sunday lunch without our children for the day. Although the Vinaio's owners were very friendly and their roughly one year old daughter was darling, we didn't have the relaxing lunch we had hoped for. The baby was shouted at not to disturb us, although her chatter was cute it was the loud reprimanding... More

Family run. Eating a meal is like being a guest of the family. The bean soup was divine, as was the veal and the local wine was lovely. Very reasonably priced. Charming hosts.

We stumbled across Il Vinaio while looking for another establishment and were very glad we did. This is the type of meal we were looking for in Italy. A proprietor who takes pride in serving fresh great tasting food in connection with local wines. The atmosphere was cozy and appropriate for the location. Everything added up to a great experience.... More

We had plans to have dinner somewhere else that was full, so we wandered down the street and in the door. We were treated like honored guests, not the bumbling tourists that we are. We asked lots of questions and our waiter patiently made great suggestions. We sampled a lot of great food, including some local dishes we had never... More

Very good value for money. This is a family restaurant offering a wide range of cheese, ham, wine, sweets of Toscany. We wanted to taste all the specialties and waiters did their best to satisfy us. On our way back we even returned to this cozy place to buy wine and pan forte and it cost really little! Highly recommended!!!

I ended up eating lunch at this restaurant out of accident and I am so glad I did. I was on my way out of Siena and wanted to eat before I left. The other places were closing and this place was still serving. I sadly cannot remember the name of what I ordered, but the server told me he... More

This is one of those places that you'd never enter if you just pass by. And we saw several people doing just that - looking inside and going away. I felt sorry for them. This is a small place in a quiet street. The decor is simple, but charming. We came in at 3 pm, the place was almost empty,... More

The array of hams, sausages and vegetables hanging above the food counters were a harbinger of an excellent lunch consisting of a mixed plate of warm and cold antipasto - great selection, tasty and satisfying. The friendly staff cautioned us against ordering one each, and it proved that sharing was indeed the better option and of course kinder on our... More

We had a mixed cheese and cured meat plate here and I have no complaints about that. The foods were all from the region and carefully thought out, eg the cheeses ranging from young to old. The Chianti we had with the plate was delicious, although I don't think you'd go here if you're looking for an extensive selection of... More
