I would go back to Fattoria Poggio Alloro because of the breathtaking view it offers toward San Gimignano. The service was very good and the place itself is very nice too. I was however expecting a little more from the food. The antipasto was a simple pappa al pomodoro, the pasta sauce was very good, I had ragu, and for... More

This is a very cozy nice elegant restaurant. The steak with the Tuscan cheese and bacon warp was one of the best ever. The past with duck sauce was too el-dente and not much taste with the duck sauce. We will probably go back and try something else. may be we didn't order the right stuff. The steak was terrific... Dear Ross Diny, I'm sorry but I think you wrote the review in the wrong profile. We are not an elegant restaurant, we are an organic farm and we never served or had in our menu the food you described above. Maybe it was anotehr restaurant in town.Thank you anyway.I hope you had a good time in san Gimignano! Have... More

We had lunch here as it was included as part of our Best of Tuscany day tour with Walkabout Tours. We were served bread, pasta, bruschetta, biscotti and a number of other dishes, all of which are all you can eat. Each dish was also served with their locally produced wines (again unlimited), which makes this quite unique as most... More

We came here as a tour for a 3-course meal with wine and everything was wonderful. Each wine matched perfectly with the meal and we had plenty of refills for food and wine. In addition, the scenery was breathtaking even during winter time. I can imagine eating outside while looking at the scenery during the spring. Lastly, the winery is... More

As part of a tour we stopped in to visit this winery and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. After a tour of the winery, we went upstairs for our wine and food paring lunch - including dunking biscotti into desert wine. Although this location is labeled as a restaurant, it's really a winery with food paring.

This farm was where we had lunch and wine during the daylong Tuscany trip from Florence. We were first taken around the dairy firm where we could see healthy cows who end up in the dining plates. The vineyard setting is lovely and you can see the tall towers of San Gimignano from here. The employees who take you around and... More

We also took a tour which included a lunch in the country winery. So glad we got this opportunity, because we'd never have found this place on our own!. Pork was offered the day we were there, which isn't my favorite, but there was plenty of other dishes to fill me up. Plus, once we were all served, we were... More

We visited this restaurant as part of a tour group exploring Tuscany. The visit included an amazing and generous wine tasting as well as lunch. All the vegetables in the dishes were grown along side the grape at the winery. Looking out at the winery was tranquil and reminiscent of what I imagine heaven looks like. Manicured crops, lush green... More

Visited Poggio Allero as a stop on a wonderful Tuscany in a day tour. The view here is wonderful. The wine excellent. Lunch excellent too. The farm tour was informative and just the right length.

Best lunch in Tuscany! We were part of a tour group that stopped here for lunch. The meal was excellent! We had wine with the bruschetta, wine with the first course, wine with the second course, and a dessert wine. I particularly liked the chianti served with the second course. That was a great wine. I should have bought a... More
