The view here is beyond spectacular especially in the evening and the food is absolutely excellent, I had the carbonara for the first course which was the best I have had yet in Italy. Pasta is home made. The second course was a Tuscan beef...stew made in red wine sauce with baked potatoes on the side. I don’t eat beef often anymore and I am glad I decided to here. It was probably the best I have ever had.More

Restaurant’s terrace was almost empty, the sun was shining but the waiter told us that we’re not allowed to eat there because we have kids and it’s gonna be raining. He refuse few tourist couples to, but easily let in Italians. I was not expecting...to be doscriminated like this in the heart of EU in 21st century. Disgusting.More

It was my best meal and experience in San Gimignano. The terrace were beautiful and the tables were set in a garden with a stunning view you cannot miss. I did not had a reservation so I was sent to an waiting area with some...refreshments available and again, a beautiful view. It was excellent. I had the Peposo, which is a meat with red wine stew and it was delicious, impeccable! Price was decent. Very recommended.More

We ate in this restaurant 6 years ago and we have come back this year. It was very good then and it remained so. We have eaten in this restaurant twice during our stay in San Gimignano this year. We have had fresh pasta, tagliata,...sirloin steak. All cooked as requested, rare is rare, medium is medium. Very good attentive service. Not to mention outstanding view over the Tuscanian landscape.More

The view on Tuscany is extraordinary, on a lovely and quiet terrace. The food was excellent. I recommend the Peposo in particular, best dish during my three weeks holidays in Tuscany!

The location is breath taking - a beautiful terrace on the Chianti hills. Very rich menu with many typical dishes from the region and lovely staff

I have stayed here several times over the last 20 years, sometimes bringing friends and family visiting from New Zealand, and my husband has stayed here over an even longer period. The room we stayed in, our favourite, number 1, is simple but has the...best views over the Tuscan countryside anywhere. The hotel is small, charming and built of the local stone. The room is clean, nicely decorated and has its own small bathroom. There’s a small television with just Italian channels. We were lucky that it wasn’t too hot the night we were there as we couldn’t get the air conditioning to work so slept with the window open. There is WiFi but it’s very patchy in the room; we found we could get okay reception sitting on the stairs or downstairs. The wonderful thing about a hotel and restaurant that is family owned over generations is that the menu doesn’t change. The terrace overlooking the countryside is beautiful and extremely romantic. The homemade food is excellent and well presented. We have always been fans of the wild boar stew and it didn’t disappoint. My ricotta ravioli in truffle sauce were outstanding. I would strongly recommend booking ahead as the restaurant, although larger than it once was, is very popular these days.More

Nice view - less service! We tried to make a reservation for two days later in the first row. That was not possible. Two options: the guy is not organized or Italian ones have priority status? Okay, then we tried to get a table the...same evening two hours later spontaneously. We asked and get the offer two wait for 25 minutes. Okay, sounds great we thought. The following thing was surprising: we walked through the main restaurant part (feels like first class) behind a white tent wall through another restaurant area (feels like second class, Tables on the Gras etc) into a waiting area (feels like third class) I asked two times for service, no reaction! Crazy service approach for such a good quoted restaurant. We decided to leave after 15 minutes waiting time without a drink in the waiting area…More

We got here guided by a local. The view on the terrace : Amazingg. We ate here 2 nights. First the food was very good...we had a wild boar stew and a beef stew. Both very good. Second my husband had some beef and I...tried a traditional dish made of beef tripe. This were both very fatty. But we had a lemon sorbeto and everything was good again.More

Everything has been said about the view - it's fantastic. Service was friendly and efficient, the food very good. It's the little things that cost it the fifth point: cheaply done menu (it's just two sheets of paper back-to-back in a clear sleeve), the chairs...aren't very comfortable, and the place would really benefit from some (tasteful) background music. They could easily add €1 or 2 to each item on the menu if they paid attention to these little things.More

Eating outside on the patio in the warmer months really separates this restaurant from others. The views are beautiful. The food we had was very good, well above average on out two week road trip of Italy.
