We arrived without booking but were shown upstairs to the bell tower great space which soon filled with Italians a good recommendation for food. We ordered the lamb chops with the oven potatoes and vegetables ,with wine, water and a beer. It was excellent value. Do not be put off by the exterior it is lovely inside the staff are brilliant... Decided to eat here when walking past as the menu looked exactly what were after. The food, service and atmosphere was all great and to top it off the wine we chose was also excellent too (I am not particularly knowledgeable about Italian wines so a real bonus.). I had a tagliate of beef with an artichoke sauce, which was... More

This place is a gem. The food was exquisite. For our starter we shared the truffle trio - the cheese was to die for - and the artichoke salad - one of the most delicious salads I have eaten in my life. Next, I had the Tuscan bean soup. Oh. My. Goodness. The staff are incredibly helpful and accommodating too.... More

Don't be put off by the exterior view. Beyond the sliding polythene door and plastic tables and chairs in the initial smoking area there is a delightful, traditional Italian ristorante. One can tell from the vast choice of wines (the wine menu is about 8-10 pages long!) that this place takes its dining seriously. The food was delicious, cooked fresh... More

Our hotel recommended this place on our arrival and so we decided to try it. Busy, and somewhat noisy, but very good food. The salami plate was excellent. We both had the sliced steak with raddiccio and peccorino cheese, and while the grilled radicchio was not quite to my taste, the steak was excellent! Although only served very rare! Highly... More

This restaurant was recommended by the staff at our hotel and although a little difficult to find, tucked away in a market square off the main street, it was worth the visit. We enjoyed our meal and would visit again.

Ate a couple of times here over the years, quite good but unfortunately the bistecca fiorentina was always given to us without the fillet. Apart from that, the upper room of the restaurant is nice.

After a recommendation from a friend we decided to give this restaurant a try. We were not disappointed. The restaurant was a little difficult to find but with the aid of google maps we succeeded in finding it. The restaurant is tucked away in a small market type square not far away from the river and main bridge, which you... More

My partner and I stumbled upon Il Campano as we walked around the old town in Pisa trying to find a place to eat. It was our last night in Italy and they made it memorable. We ordered two appetizers (grilled octopus over arugula with walnut pesto, pici with wild boar sauce) and shared a main dish (porcini mushroom with... More

Restaurant where you can find the original old plates of this lovely region, from the old recipe strait on your table. Of course the famous Fiorentina steak is the queen of the restaurant. With a wine list of around 200 wine labels from all round the Tuscany area, where you can find as well someone of the Italian's most famous.
