I thought I had reviewed this earlier... Best gelato in Florence with esoteric flavours. Also better priced than close to the Domo. We STILL talk about the goat cheese and fig flavour, blood orange and Brazilian spice, lavender and spirulina..... all amazing.

We happened to stop here on a long walk across Florence and didn't realize that it was so highly rated on TA until after we were done. It absolutely deserves all the hype. The Gelato itself is delicious and the prices are worlds better than anywhere near the city center. Staff is overwhelmingly friendly and kind to obvious tourists and... More

We went to this gelato store while visiting Florence for the day. They were very welcoming to American travelers and eager to please, it seems like it might be very much of a family kind of place. There were people of all ages who came and went while we enjoyed our cups of gelato. You can sit in the window... More

Family business, nice peoples and very, very good ice cream. The prices are very fair not as locations in the city center.

Tasty gelato. Not worth a detour but definitely go there if you stay in the area. Their small home made yoghurts are great too.

One might not expect to find such creamy gelato away from the city center. But here it is. In a quiet neighborhood and open until midnight. Very good gelato, fresh fruit flavors. No need to leave the neighborhood.

We did a quick google search to see what was nearby and found B. Ice - cute little shop with fairly standard flavors - but we were using pistachio as the standard bearer for the trip and this one received the highest ratings! Reasonable for cup (coppi) or cone (coni) and they take credit cards (right there is enough to... More

After travelling for 15 days in Italy, I found the perfect gelato in this place!! While in Florence I have been there at least 4 times! The one that I liked the most was pistachio! Very creamy! They also sell others deserts with ice cream.

We spent 4 days in Florence and tried 2 gelato places a day (I know! But I am pregnant so that's allowed!) .... We went to this place first and it was by far the best. It isn't an overly central/ touristy location but is easy to find. We went on our way back from the Tuesday morning market in... More

This is a nice place to experience the amazing gelato available in this city. It had a good selection of flavors and they were very accommodating to us language-challenged tourists. A 2 euro cone was a decent serving.

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
