Last night, we went to one of the side streets for something to eat, and ran across this wonderful little cafe. Turns out they offered an appetizer buffet WITH drinks, for 8 Euro. John, of course, always gets his money’s worth at these deals. There were a number of different cous-cous, veg lasagna, prosciutto, bruschetta and toppings. We sat outside... More

This was my fourth trip to Florence. Until La Posta, I never once had a bad meal. Service was better than the food, but that's not much of a complement. My advice: avoid it.

45 minutes for a crostone, which then arrived cold! Honestly this place is very pretty-looking but it's not worth the wait. Maybe if you get a table at 12 you might get served before you age.

Had breakfast twice here because the service is so pleasant. The first time I chose a pastry and coffee and the second I chose the Special at 10 euros. Well it was a bargain: bacon scrambled eggs toast croissant OJ and coffee. Sitting outside watching the world go by. Thanks guys and gals.

They have excellent service, truly delicious brunch, especially the croissant. Love the seating arrangement, it was on a quiet side street, ideal for Sunday brunch. By the way, there was good music and plenty of other breakfast choices, our special was only 10 euros... Which was great!

I stopped here just by chance and was really pleasantly surprised. There is a little outdoor terrace, and the breakfast selection is great. I had cappuccino, the yogurt with muesli, and the bio bread with jam. The price was reasonable and the service friendly. And no cover charge for breakfast either.

We will definitely be back! We had a wonderful meal here on our most recent trip to Florence. There were plenty of great options, but the gnocchi was amazing! We also enjoyed pasta with mushrooms and burratta. Great location, very central. Small outside seating area is very nice if you can fit in there.

My sister and I were directed here for breakfast as part of a deal from the apartment we were staying in. We had a great time with most of the staff. They got to know us as we were there for four mornings. We enjoyed the coffee, the breakfast and the friendly service. It was a busy, bustling place but... More

Great service, great food and drinks, good prices, sheltered from the biggest streams of tourists while still keeping good quality. Good follow-up from the staff, and amazing offer with a great free, small buffet when ordering drinks. Plus for feeling like a place for locals.

This is a nice cafe with shady outdoor seating very close to the Duomo, Academia, and other major sites in Florence. Excellent salads and entrees with local beer and very good coffee/cappuccinos. About as cheap as it gets in Florence that close to major tourist spots on that side of the river.

Thank Victoria M

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
