I went to eat at Hoseki with my wife during a business stay in Florence. We just reserved a table two hours in advanced and when we reached there, we were blown away by the nice atmosphere in there. Every table has its own "corner" so you are not presented in the middle of the room eating. The waiters are... More

What a lovely find! This restaurant is tastefully decorated, offers friendly, efficient service and, most importantly, serves tasty and fresh food. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a break from pasta! The yaki soba is fantastic!

I found this place to be very disappointing. The rice-to-fish ratio for everything we ate was too high (there was barely any fish on the rolls we ate), and the food was very greasy. They used old oil to fry the tempura, and the vegetable tempura was all carrots and potatoes (we ordered vegetable tempura because the sautéed mixed vegetables... More

Add Hoseki to the list of excellent alternative restaurants to be found along the Via Il Prato. It's a sleek, cozy dining room with attentive servers and a first-class sushi chef. This may be the first time I'd ever seen branzino included on the list of ingredients for a special roll, but the results were top-drawer. The fish is uniformly... More

This is a great little restaurant, we went here for dinner I had high hopes and I wasn't disappointed. The restaurant had a really nice vibe and felt like I was in Japan. The beer was large = good and the food was super good. My partner and I both loved the avocado prawn dragon roll as was the crab... More

In Florence is quite easy to find a good Italian restaurant but what about a Japanese one? Hoseki offers better than average japanese food and in my opinion is a good place where to stop by if you are tired of eating italian, italian and italian every day. It's a place popular with the locals as well considering that even... More

We were on a tour and booked for a change from the Italian food we had been having. Did not disappoint. Fresh food, reasonable prices, quick service.

Went here for a quick bite last night since we just arrived in Florence. Was surprised by the cozy atmosphere, perfect for a romantic date. Ordered the California maki which was 8€ for eight pieces and chicken skewers which cost 8€ for two pieces. They tasted great and satisfying. The staff were polite and very welcoming.

I could not have been more excited to have found Hoseki. After being in Florence for 3 months without finding a decent sushi place, this place was heaven on earth. The service was great and the menu also came in English. Edamame, nigiri, and 2 sushi rolls later, we left so satisfied! Not to mention, they split the checks! If... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
