Had a great meal here. The food was excellent and the service friendly and attentive. The art on the walls and the invitation to draw on the tablecloths added to the ambience. First rate.

We had a very relaxing dinner at La Cucina del Garga. The place has a lot of fun, funky decorations. It had a great vibe. After you get seated they give you a complimentary glass of prosecco. We had the mixed crostini plate for an appetizer and then my husband had the salmon and I had the chicken and mushrooms.... More

Great little restaurant, not many people were there the night we went, but the sat all close together so it did not feel too lonely! Started with some water, then moved onto starters of Magnifico and Trofie, which were good. Mains of salmon and fegato with some potatoes to share. Finished with cheesecake and mascarpone fragole, then coffees. All accompanied... More

Visited this restaurant a couple of years ago while on holiday and we came back again. The food is amazing. We had a rebolita, which is a traditional vegetable type of soup followed with the bistecca fiorentina. It was perfectly cooked and very tender! We ended our dinner with a very good cheese cake and a fruit tart. Every thing... More

A wonderful meal in the most welcoming atmosphere. Doodles on the table, crazy art on the walls, a complimentary glass of Prosecco - all made for a very special and memorable meal on our last night in Florence! Highly recommend.

We came across this restaurant from Like a Local blog, we were not disappointed. We hadn't booked and it was a public holiday so we're worried we may not get a table but we were most warmly welcomed by the staff here. The restaurant is quirky with lots of eclectic art and artefacts dotted around. The vibe is chilled. Pace... More

It's easy to miss this place, no big signs and in on an out of the way street, but what a find!! Recommended by our Air bnb host we sought it out. I'm no food critic, so I can't describe the dishes we had in detail, but I can say I didn't want to leave. Great wine recommendation, the pasta... More

Our driving tour guide recommended this place and it didn't disappoint. We did have reservations and we were seated in a cozy dining room in the back of the restaurant. The decor in this place is very artsy and eclectic, but still some traditional Florentine feel to it. The walls are covered with murals and a crazy array of nicknacks.... More

Delicious, innovative food--very artsy atmosphere. A bit pricey, which we wouldn't have minded if service was decent. Waitress was rude and couldn't be bothered.

Description
"La Cucina del Garga" arrived on the Florence restaurant scene when Chef Alessandro Gargani returned from an 8 year run as Executive Chef in New York City's famous "Mezzogiorno Restaurant" in SOHO. It is there that he practiced his craft, honed his recipes and started his family. From an early age, his parents Sharon Oddson and Giuliano Gargani AKA "Il Garga" had instilled in him their passion for food and art. In 2010, he returned to his hometown to continue the family tradition born at The Trattoria in Via del Moro and then brought here to Via San Zanobi.
The restaurant is an art gallery as well as showcase where talented local artists have the opportunity to show their work and customers can purchase paintings or sculptures to enrich their own private collections.
