We saw a number of locals sitting in there and thought it had to be good food. The service was good and the food was nice. We shared pasta and pizza and both were good.

We stopped here for dinner after a long day's sightseeing and were surprised by the lack of tourists mobbing the place given its location. It's right by Museo Casa di Dante and not far from Piazza della Repubblica. There were a mixture of couples, families and friends dining and the service was efficient and attentive. Menu was extensive and food... More

Our last night in Florence we stumbled onto this place. Extensive menu, reasonable prices and engaging staff. The food was fresh and delicious!

We ran into this restaurant while we were exploring the centre of Florence. We took a place of pasta Carbonara and a pizza; while the pasta was extremely good and tasty, the pizza was below average. Staff were ok; service was decent but the pizza was below par (not what I expected from an Italian restaurant).

Food was poor by any standard, let alone for Florence. The worst bruschetta I've ever had and the pasta was just ok. Great location, but there's much better options.

Wouldn't choose to go there again. Steak was chewy and pizza almost raw. Suggest you find somewhere else to eat.

My parents and I visited Antico Barile whilst staying on holiday in Florence, day 4 of 7. Antico looks very nice from the outside, appealing advertisements, the menu reads well and overall the place does look like we were about to experience an authentic Italian meal. It was however the worst meal I have eaten at a restaurant, not just... More

My partner and I decided to chance this restaurant as we had been walking around and gave up looking for an authentic Italian place with fair prices for tourists. All we wanted was some nice Italian pasta with some nice service and we received neither. I got a creamy unseasoned pile of crap they call carbonara. Not like what I've... More

This is the typical Firenze tourist restaurant that survives on the inflow of big groups and confused tourists. We thought we were going to another highly rated restaurant that is mistakenly placed on the same spot on tripadvisor map. The food was bland, a pizza we crowned the worst in Italy. Service however was with a smile, even when we... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
