Stopped for a very late lunch and just what we needed. Clean, attentive waiter excellent value for money food. Had a pizza and wife had a chicken salad, both were quick to arrive and tasty. Good selection of wine and there's beer on tap. Didn't get 5 stars as seating not the most comfortable (plastic chairs). Recommend for a quick... More

A lovely location, staff very kind, but I have been charged 14 euto for an omelette and 4 euros for 4 slices of tomato. I felt really cheated.

After a full day of exploring the beauty of Florence, a full evening of eating and more exploring, we wanted a quick nightcap to celebrate our last night. We found this place with outdoor seating overlooking the Arno. It was perfect - quiet and had just what we wanted - a glass of wine for us ladies, beer for the... More

We had a breakfast and a lunch at 900. Breakfast was great -- sweet pastries and wonderful coffee. And cheap -- super value. Lunch OK, again outside street-side. Simple pasta and salad menu, nice bar service. Breakfast is what makes it noteworthy.

Very pleasant place. Good salads, omelets and coffee. Very reasonably priced, too. We would definitely go back if we found ourselves in the neighborhood.

Appena traslocati qui; è diventato nostro "salotto" per vedere i tramonti spettacolari sul fiume. Personale gentile e disponibili. Drinks e aperitivi abbondanti. Sembra che anche i pasti siano molto buoni. We just moved here and we love this little bar. A lovely place to see the spectacular sunsets over the Arno. Great drinks and aperitivi, and seems everyone loves the... More

We were on our way back to the hotel when we decided to stop for a bite to eat. We decided this looked like a nice place. We ordered a salad that was huge. It was freshly made with ham, black olives, marinated artichokes, carrots, lettuce and fresh mozzarella cheese. It was large enough for the two of us. The fettucini... More

Slow service to begin with but great drinks- we had fresh orange juice, an americano and iced coffees and they were all fantastic. Would definitely go again!

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
