The place was kind of old and looks dirty, there was no hot water in the toilet, the place was cold ( low heating) and the service poor. The food is basic but the price is high!

My dad and I happened upon this place while walking in Florence near the Duomo. It was early so there weren't many people so we had the pick of seats. The waitress was extremely helpful and friendly; she patiently answered all of our questions about the menu and even questions we had about the Italian language. I had the Spaghetti... More

We tried not to be influenced by all the bad reviews on this site. We wanted to give the taverna a try. The tables, the staff, the quietness of this part of town looked and sounded nice, not to say adorable. I ordered breadsoup with tomatoes, which came as a thick mash I could have eaten with a fork -... More

Great place for lunch . We had time to kill before our Uffizi tour and the tour guide recommended eating here. The pizza and lasagna were very good. The waitress was very nice.

Over 5 days in Florence we had 2 dinners and 1 lunch at this restaurant and couldn't fault it. Food was good and reasonably priced, service was friendly and helpful. One of the best restaurants we found in Florence.

We stumbled across this delightful little spot while wandering the side streets of Florence. Our two young servers were both very patient as I butchered the Italian language while trying to make a menu selection. My wife chose a salad that contained two glistening balls of fresh mozzarella that must have been made in heaven! I have never tasted fresher,... More

There are so many good places in Florence that it really annoys me we went here. Service was ok, but the food was bland all around. My pizza tasted prefabricated. Avoid.

I was looking forward to a proper Italian risotto when I stumbled on to this place. The service was good and the girls helpful. Unfortunately the risotto was a disappointed at this place.

I had the frutti di mare risotto, but unfortunately, it tasted like rice with tomato sauce. I would not recommend this place.

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
