Dear and beloved team of Vini E Vecchi Sapori, for many years my mother and I have been coming to the most beautiful city in the world and constantly booking a table in your magical place. When we first visited, it was somewhere in 2010 and you only had a few tables, the head of the family was cutting antipasti, mother was cooking in the kitchen, and figlio was serving food in a positive mood. Then you expanded, but this spirit remained cozy and warm. Nothing tastier and more heartfelt we have never met, visiting different countries of the world. We can even say that it is because of you that we visit Florence again and again. I really want to believe that you are all healthy. My mother and I wish you good health and success in the future, and we will definitely visit VVS again as soon as everything is over. With dreams of duck ragout and ossobuco)) Con voi cordialmente Anna from Moscow

You better make a reservation if you want to enjoy a meal here! The place is small, but homey, and the guys that work there are so fun! They had such a great 90s-2000s playlist while we were there, and a few of us were singing along while enjoying the delicious food. Don't come here for basic Italian food tropes and please note that they will not service you pizza, cappuccino, spritz, or take away. And you'll be better for it. The duck ragu was probably the best ragu we had the entire trip. The truffle pasta was simple but decadent. The vibe in the whole place was great and I wish I had the stomach space to try more dishes. This place serves all the Florentine classics like tripe, bistec alla fiorentina, and others, so that's what you should have when you come here.

This place is small (about 8 tables) and worth it!! They are usually booked far in advance so there is no way to get in without a reservation. We went here and had great food, great wine, and great service. The employees are very nice and speak great english. You should know that in general service is much slower in Italy than in the USA but this place was pretty on top of things. I would recommend this place to anyone and would go back. Google maps led us the wrong way so we were a little late for our reservation and we had to wait about 20-30 mins for a table. So we sat outside and drank a few glasses of prosecco and they didn't even charge us for them. Very nice people. Follow me @angieknowsthetruth on IG for more italian travels!

Our family would not visit Florence without enjoying the special dining experience at Vini e Vecchi Sapori. Reservations are a must as the restaurant is small and intimate. The changing menu reflects outstanding family recipes, including pasta, artichokes, osso buco, and tiramisu. This Tuscan restaurant is a superb family-run jewel.

Reservations a must, likely days in advance - it is that good! While small, owner Thomas and his family members are not small on charisma, charm, and they provide a very fun atmosphere. And the food?! ...incredible! Had several dinners here during a week in Florence giving us a chance to try many dishes on a select, hand-picked menu. Every dish, delectable, and the wine list covering all Tuscany regions is offers many great choices at great values! Lunch may be your only option if you cannot get a dinner reservation; however you experience Vini e Vecchi, you too will be so glad you did.

My wife and I booked to come here on our visit to Florence. We had our hotel call up to book and we are so pleased we did. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was the best we had in Florence. We had the mixed cured meat and tomato and burrata starter, which were very generous and tasty. My wife went for the cod which was very flaky and well seasoned. I had the duck pasta which is the best pasta dish I have ever eaten. Although I am not a duck lover, this dish was incredible. We then shared the raspberry tiramisu which was a nice spin in a classic! Our waiters checked up on us regularly, kept us topped up with wine and also recommended other wines for us to taste. It was all rounded up with a limoncello. A must visit!

This was our family’s favorite stop in Florence. The atmosphere was buzzing - the staff have so much fun! Sit inside if you can just to catch the action. The staff all had a great sense of humor and clearly love it there. The menu is handwritten and there are No Spritzes (and no ice! And no pizza!). The pate was served warm and a bit chunky which made it feel more rustic. Delicious. The salad made the veggies sing- simple, yummy. The pasta was incredible and we enjoyed the Florentine steak there. It was a perfect dinner and way to end our trip in Florence. Wonderful.

If we could eat here every dinner in Florence we would...we love this place that much. And we are not your average tourists :) We've been to Italy many times, all over. Osteria Vini e Vecchi Sapori is everything you want when you go to dinner in Italy. Its got a great atmosphere (small, buzzy, great waitstaff, fun vibe) and most of all, its got GREAT, well executed, delicious, sop every drop of sauce off your plate food. Pastas are fantastic - the papperdelle with duck is a fave as is the pasta with zucchini flowers/asparagus. The filetto di manzo with pepe verde is to die for. And the pollo fritti e carciofi (fried chicken with fried artichokes) is insane. The raspberry tiramisu is amazing. We sound over the top in our praise...but really, this is the kind of restaurant you want to go to all the time. Very small, very popular, so book ahead or you won't get in.

Loved this placed! As a New Yorker exploring Firenze, the vibe and people were great. Reminds me of a downtown cool vibe. The food is phenomenal, as well. Highly recommend their fried chicken and zucchini flour or artichoke if in season, papadelle with meat ragu and raspberry tiramisu. Wish they existing in NYC.

We just got back from dinner there and felt like we must write a review immediately. Our family has traveled extensively and appreciates a well prepared meal at all levels from food trucks to Michelin stars. Vini E Vecchi Sapori truly delivered a wonderful meal in a lively but relaxing and friendly setting - perfect after a long hectic day seeing the sites of Florence. We sampled the carpaccio, bruschetta, and the chicken liver pate, followed by different pastas, the fried veal, and dessert. Every dish was perfectly prepared. While that by itself is important, what really sets this place apart is the service and level of enthusiasm shown by the folks that run this highly efficient operation. They take their time to make you feel welcome at a personal level. They clearly take pride in the restaurant and the service provided. We could not have asked for anything more. We would highly suggest making a reservation as space is at a premium and the crowd outside only grew bigger as the evening progressed.

This place was recommended by a fellow Americano and I can see why. It is pretty small and was PACKED for dinner, and rightly so. Such a beautiful mix of casual and elegant atmosphere - casual vibe and elegant food. Excellent, friendly service. I had the 'beef stew' which was meat braised in red wine (not traditional American beef stew), which came with some beautiful green legume as the veggie. I'm still thinking about it. They recommended the duck pappardelle for my husband, which HE is still thinking about. I think our tab came to 80 euro which included a starter and a bottle of wine. Incredible, will be back.

Believe the reviews! This is the Italian dinner you want when you are in Florence. Authentic Italian dinner experience with delicious fresh food. The menu is hand written daily and the staff is happy to make recommendations. This restaurant is what Italy is all about. Be sure to make reservations (which must be made by phone) as many people without reservations were turned away at the door.

My boyfriend found this place near the main plaza and what an incredible little gem! It is a cosy restaurant with only a few tables but the food is indeed the star. We and his brother all had first dishes of pasta, each a different type, all expertly done to al dente. The flavors were luxurious and delicious, not overwhelming with richness, not tepid either. Sumptuous small plates for an afternoon bite to allow for more walking. Our servers were the next best find - all of them smiling and seeming to enjoy what they do, to a nice eclectic pop soundtrack. It was impossible not to catch their enthusiasm and joy. My companions had their meals with the vermentino wine and I had a glass of Chianti with my duck pappardelle. Prices also were quite reasonable, the three of our meals and drinks adding to about €82. Also LGBTQ+ friendly. 🏳️‍🌈 Because of its small size, some tourists left the queue to wait for a table elsewhere but I’m afraid they made the wrong choice. This was worth waiting for and seeking out. Be careful, though, as they clearly warn they will not serve ketchup, ice, spritz, pizza and cappuccino. And I respect that. They focus on what matters, great Florencian antipasti, pasta and main dishes, desserts and wines. If you want authentic Italian cuisine, I highly recommend that you give this place a try.

This small, bustling, centrally located restaurant is a pleasure to visit. The team on the floor operate with great efficiency and although tables aren’t rushed the turnover is quick, all done in a very friendly manner. The food is fantastic and the menu changes daily. I’ve had the best Osso Bucco I’ve ever eaten here and had hoped to enjoy it again but it wasn’t on, but the veal chop was excellent as were the lamb chops. The starter of beef carpaccio was enough to share, the portions are generous. The deep fried zucchini flowers were so good they’d bring us back on their own. We booked by phone weeks ahead as there’s no online booking available and getting a table has been difficult in the past. Excellent from start to finish and very reasonably priced.

Without compare! The most delicious, simple & fresh, seasonally spot on, Florentine authentic meal of our week in Florence. We in fact ate there two nights in a row, it was that good. Everything that came out of the kitchen was superb - the bruschetta with sweet tomatoes, the fried zucchini flowers , particularly loved the pasta with zucchini flowers and cream. The tiramisu with raspberries was a clever twist and the Bistecca alla Fiorentina was flavorful and cooked to perfection. The staff are friendly, fun and energetic making the eating environment electric. It's a winner!
