This restaurant is too expensive. We paid 15€ for a chicken's Leg!! ONE LEG!! Without side dish... we had to order potatoes on the side... for another 5€! Plus a stake and one bottle of water, we paid 50€! Extremely expensive and rushed good! The stake was ok but not that great! I've eaten better on other places for less...... More

People saying this place is too touristic, clearly don't understand the spirit! I went there last Sunday with my girlfriend and we were sat down on a table for 4 next to a couple of "strangers". I suggest a bottle or glass of the local house wine to help make a new acquaintance ;) Anyways, the place is a typical... More

This was the craziest restaurant I've ever been in my life . We were in Florence for the Fair and we know this place already , we booked in advance a table cause you have no other chance to get inside . Cause we were hungry we have been there at 19.20. So we had to wait ! The guys... More

We'd heard that the atmosphere was great and the food and wine was equal to the unfortunate atmosphere. The house wine was very average and other options very expensive. They have pushed way too many tables in to the space to the point that you can hear your co-dinners chewing. There are better places to spend your precious time in... More

The food is served rather fast but nothing special about the taste. The waiters were very cold toward us and a bit rude to the guests at the next table. I didn't get the feeling that they want to please their clients. The decorations are very nice though!

If you want to savior traditional Tuscan cuisine, I Latini is excellent! Be brave and try out some of the many dishes they offer or let the waiter guide you through a fantastic dining experience. Highly recommended!

Many thanks to Eric and Marco who looked after us. Very funny and they even shared a few stories of their own. We had the set menu which was fantastic value at Eur55. We perhaps tried half of the menu - including soup, pasta, cold meats, steak/veal and also dessert! Wine was included and of decent quality. We stayed and... More

This place was recommended to me by a couple of locals but I was very disappointed. As mentioned by others, the food arrives almost immediately and it I felt rushed-- the food was not particularly good or interesting. I did like the vegetable flan and recommend that. But did not like atmosphere of this place.

Hello Daria, I'm sure it was a misunderstanding. Of course you can come alone at our restaurant. We simply don't have single tables because we prefer to have big tables and sit people next to each other. Our philosophy is to share, even tables :) We will be pleased to welcome you in the near future. More

Around the tables of "Il Latini" friendships are interwoven, all the world's languages are spoken, fervent discussions are held and everyone tastes food that has the flavour of the old times past. Il Latini means tradition: a means of discovering Tuscany and its people. The kitchen is where the best products of Tuscany's countryside are turned into the dishes typical of the tuscan tradition. Il Latini's kitchen was originally the kitchen of Narciso's wife, who used to take the dishes from her home to the cellars in Palazzo Rucellai where tables were set. Sora Maria's cooking was made of ingredients and flavours typical of tuscan cuisine, simple and genuine food that nowadays are still a characteristic of the restaurant. The flood in Florence did not spare the tavern, which continued nevertheless to serve warm dishes Florentine citizens among the muddy streets.

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
