We dined here on our first night in Firenze, on the recommendation of our hotel. The food was very good, the house wine better than average and the service good. Very enjoyable evening, perhaps a little expensive, but Italy generally is nowadays.

I'm going to be one of those people who posts a bad review among the many great ones. This was recommended to us but someone I trust, but the food was pretty disappointing. One person had rabbit, which I don't care for, but she has...More

Great place, off the beaten path, friendly folk and warm atmosphere. Try the amazing Florentine steak with a side of battered/fried porcini mushrooms!

Antico Fattore is probably the best restaurant in Florence if you love meat, but it also offers traditional dishes which are compatible with a vegetarian/vegan choice. I'm born and raised in Italy and I can tell you the taste of their food is delicious, real...More

We called in here on our first night and were lucky to get a table. The highlight of the menu is the enormous Florentine steak, which we ate with fries and deep fried battered mushrooms. The steak was beautifully tender and flavoursome. We could not...More

Booked by concierge at the hotel, who’s first suggestion had been great. Place was buzzing, fairly efficient if offhand service apart from Sandro. He was very good. The mushrooms on my polenta were not very tasty. The pesto on the pasta very disappointing, expected fresh,...More

A typically old school Florence trattoria, Antico Fattore is an original taste of the city's history, dating back to 1929. In this era local creatives would flock to Antico Fattore on a Wednesday to be fed by proprietor and local character Giulio. Giulio may be long gone, along with many of his historic patrons, but the convivial Antico Fattore atmosphere remains. In this old building, where an original wooden beamed ceiling remains and modern design is only of fleeting concern, guests continue to flock to enjoy lingering glasses of wine, intelligent conversation and superb Italian food. The renowned recipes have been handed down and remain as much part of the restaurant's history as past patrons.
