Walking away from the Centre of Firenze having crossed the Ponte Vecchio nestles Le Volpi e L'Uva. Please note it's a Wine Bar so no Coffees or selection of Beers. The Lady of this establishment is multi-lingual which is a boon to Tourists. The Wine we had - Chianti of course - was excellent and at 5 Euros good value.... More

The owners of Le Volpi e L'Uva have cultivated relationships with some of Italy's great vineyards and you can try some amazing wines for a fraction of the price they'd be elsewhere. If that doesn't convince you, they also make the best salads and crostone! I found heaven in a carpaccio salad and with glass of Maremma.

We stopped here for a few glasses of wine after reading reviews. It's right near the ponte vecchio but it's away from the main road, great if you want to get away from the main bustle whilst enjoying a drink. The guy who served us was very knowledgable and friendly. Would happily go back here.

Lovely wine bar coupled with great snacks. We stopped here for lunch after a visit up the hill at the Palazzo Pitti. Received a wonderful greeting by the woman managing the restaurant. She suggested some delicious snacks paired with nice local and regional wines. She gladly allowed us to sample several wines before choosing our favorites. The Crostones (larger slice... More

Popped in here for a glass of local red..Got talking to some other visitors and before we knew it we had lost the afternoon! Lots of choice of wine..We didn't try the bruschetta but our new friends raved about it. We did however work out way through a few glasses of delicious spumante. Staff here are friendly but direct and... More

They recommended wines for my wife and I and served us a wonderful open sandwich with local sausage and cheese as well as a mixed Italian cheese plate. The people were great and helped us with the wines and the food. We left the wine bar full of good food and great wine.

No wonder this place is so highly rated. Two Japanese ladies were running the counter and were delightfully helpful in helping me choose a proper local Tuscan wine pairing for my cold cuts and cheese plate... service was fast, food was excellent, prices ultra reasonable for what I got. Why four stars? The bar is uncomfortable to sit at and... More

We found this place accidentally while having a stroll in the morning and we returned in the afternoon for some wine. We opted for a platter of cheese, salami and wine of course! Great atmosphere, exceptional service but it is off the beaten track! I consider it one of the hidden gems and I highly recommend it. Value for money.

Staying in Pitti

Neighbourhood Profile
Pitti
Pitti is a neighborhood characterized by art and history. Renaissance architecture such as Pitti Palace, which houses five museums alone, introduces visitors to the green lungs of spectacular Boboli Gardens. Any visitor can wander through statues, fountains, and panoramic viewpoints. Around the garden, treasures like the Museum of Natural History of the Specola and Villa Bardini guide guests through Florence as the cradle of the Renaissance. End the day with an aperitif in Piazza della Passera or the more romantic Forte di Belvedere, which offers an amazing panoramic view of the entire city.
