We were staying at the Top of the hill in Taormina and walked downhill and steps for 1 hour to get to this delightful restaurant. The walk was very worth while and the restaurant was a real treat. Stunning position with the sound of the waves lapping the shore. Nice staff and really fresh funky fish dishes. This was a... More

Romantic looking over the bay. Food was just superb and staff attentive. Well worth climbing all those steps down and up after eating.

We were staying in Taormina (Mazzaro Sea Palace Hotel) on the beach. The hotel recommended il Barcailo for dinner. It did not disappoint. It is a family owned facility. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. They have a wide variety of fresh fish cooked to perfection. It was so good we had dinner there twice during... More

The access is not easy but you should make effort to enjoy this place. The seafood is really good and prices 'reasonable ' the place is romantic so don't hesitate.

Fish and seafood can not be fresher, your sitting almost on the beach next to the fishing boats. No thrills, just fantastic food. And lots of cats, waiting to get lucky.

We were absolutely amazed by all the dishes offered. We couldn't get enough of it!On the outside,it is not at all impressive but the menu will blow you away! Local caponata dish was out of this world!During summer months, you need to book well in advance.Locals told us about two weeks beforehand!!!

We ate a delicious dinner here after stumbling upon this restaurant by following the steps down to the beach. The stuffed sardines were delicious as was the pasta with swordfish with eggplant and the grilled vegetables. The house wine was also excellent. Service was prompt, friendly and attentive. This place was much better value than restaurants up in Taormina. I... More

1. Book outside ! It's a small area with really a pretty view , it's not a place you'll see without knowing about or happening to stay at one of the hotels right besides it as you need to walk down an alley and stairs till you're at the bottom near the sea . 2. If you love crudo, this... More
