We ate lunch here twice during our four day stay in beautiful Siracusa, which we rarely do, wanting to try as many restaurants as possible. This place is located on a side street not far from our apartment. We sat outside in the small but cute patio along the small street. The first day we had grilled calamari and a... More

I had the mussel soup with toast. I forgot what I had for the main course but had to be some type of fish and or pasta with the fish.

Maybe the best pizza we have ever had - no need for machete or chain saw. The young waiters were so polite and service minded, that we felt taken back in a time machine - delightful.

We are really experts on this restaurant. We stayed in Siracusa for a week and had dinner here five of those nights. That tells you what we thought of Athena. The food was highly enjoyable rather than spectacular. We did not have a bad meal, although I was not crazy about the scallopini. Everything else was a pleasure. We could... More

Good pasta. I ordered the squid ink, but the kitchen missed it and gave me red sauce. Maybe next time. A bit over priced for the food/atmosphere, but I'd go back.

Me and my wife found this restaurant by chance and although it was crowded (that was a good sign!) the staff found a table for us. The food is great (we had pizza and frito misto), the waiters are very kind and the prices are very OK.

After a long day of sightseeing we didn't want a late evening, so we asked at the hotel for a place that would be open at 7 PM. They recommended Il Tempio di Athena. We arrived about right about 7 but were shooed away rather abruptly being advised that they wouldn't seat anyone until 7:30. We looked around for a... More

A great location for lunch and to rest your feet with wine and pizza. Off the beaten track. Excellent food. Engage the staff in conversation about the area. Noted that Lions International locals had put their mark on it as an eating and meeting location. A good recommendation.

Very nice staff, great atmosphere and the tastiest pizza margarita I've ever had. Pasta carbonara was also very tasty. Complimentary bruschetta and lemon ice were delicious, nothing more we could ask for. Highly recommended.
